I was similarly concerned ref rainnex on sunnies, but have been using it for the last 3 months on my blueeye squids with no probs.
I need to reapply it after each session, and it's a bit fuzzy (my vision is fuzzy anyway, so just adds to the effect!), and not 100% effective at stoping salt crusting, but better than forking out $300 for top of the range glasses and I couldnt find any of the other glasses-specific stuff anywhere.

Worth trying.

Rainx on sunnies? I thought you could only use that product on glass, I have some Rainx but have been reluctant to try it on my sunnies.

Will it damage them? I know Rainx works, I used it all the time on the boat windscreen.

The Rainx water repellent won't hurt your glasses. However, it has the reverse effect of the anti-fog stuff and causes vapour to condense in little beads. If you have close fitting sunnies without a lot of circulation and you put Rainx on the inside of your lenses they will fog up when you sweat.

I just use polariod glare foils to cut the glare.

They dont float so to stop them getting lost I use a floating head band that pushes onto the arms of the sunnies. you can get them from Whitworths for about $13.

These work fine, I have only lost one pair since using them, the imact was huge.

Great to hear from you sorry to hear about your eye. Mick has the same problem, it's growing over his left eye quite badly and over his right eye and the only way to fix it is to have it removed by surgery which takes about a week to heal and is painful. There is also an 80% chance it will grow back. He's had it for years as a result of being a big surfer and now kiter. I'm on at him to have them removed because it can grow over your pupil and eventually blind you....don't want to scare you but that's what we are possibly looking at for him.

Just keep a check on it, wear sunnies whenever you can. I do look like a fool going surfing in my kiting sunnies but it's better than nothing and they do stay on (but then again we all know I'm not a hardcore surfer!).
