KMI, you say that you prefer smaller cities/towns and better winds. There's only one place you need to consider then. It's got to be Western Australia, especially around Geralton/Lancelin, Perth would probably be easier to find a decent job though depending on what you do. What job do you do in France?
I was thinking about Perth and WA, I read good stuff about this place. Beautiful town, good spot for kiting and a lot of wind all the year.
But it's a little bit to far of the other cities or countries that I want to visit like Sydney, Melbourn, French Caledonia or New Zeland.
It's not like I'll be every day in other cities but Pearth is to isolated from the rest of the country.
But it's still an option.
For answer your question, I'm a mechanical engineer at EADS Astrium. It's a company which made satellites and I'm designing earth or space observation telescope.
But if I come for working in Australia I don't care if I change my job.

If you dont like sharks, you best not come to aust. But the southern states also offer some good kiting locations and conditions plus a cosmopolitan lifesyle. You will find the best parts of the country for kiteboarding aren't necesarily the best places to live. I think for the best of both worlds sth qld and the greater sydney area are hard to beat.
It's not that I don't like sharks, it's more that I don't like the idea of beeing bitten by a shark

To summarize I have to look on the East Coast and Pearth.
