JL... you just changed emails cus of spam... putting your new one up on a forum will just make it happen again, i suggest you put the blag[at]ho tm ail[dot]com into use

EDIT: i will get a mystic cus it looks dope... once i have sold my current one so $120 for a comfy M Wipika inferno harness, its silver and black so looks pretty good anyway making the decision whether to get a new one even harder... pm if interested, and cus its used you can even try it if you kite close enough to me.

I am with Garth .... I ride Dakine seat harness, bought the Prolimit hadlow waist harness rode it for maybe 3 times. had a little mishap and broke the suicide line connection point. So went back to my seat. 2 things happened. My stance is a hundred times better from having riden with the waist harness. I have loosened up the seat harness to give me more freedom of movement and have gained a new appreciation for my Seat harness.

I was talking to a guy in Adelaide in the kite shop down at Gelnelg. He was putting together a very different spreader bar arrangement, 1 that slides from side to side. The aim was to make toe side much easier when wave riding. If you see this post can you provide some details and a verdict on how it well it works. I have tried to track something similar down but with no luck.

I picked up a north styler today. I tryed on a few including the mystic, and i found this one the most comfy for me.
Yet to try it out, but i can't wait!
The shop only had the mystic in small, and i needed an xs (dam my malnurished body) , it might have been better if it was smaller, but i found the north so comfy.
My dog already almost yakked on it as well. . But i quickly picked her up, and put her on a rug.

Clairey / Jaimie Lee,

I am helping a girl to go into the sport with various advice.

I am not sure about harnesses. I have long believed that seat harnesses were more comfy for girls. Are the recent waist harnesses ok?

My experience is that my current harness does not ride up my chest as much as my previous one (which was really comfy when it was where it should be) thanks to additional straps on the new model... Both harnesses were Flying Object. My kites spend far less time at the zenith than a few years ago, though...

Thank you.

Fred

Hi, I use a Dakine seat harness after learning on a waist harness.I swapped to ease the pressure on my ribs.

I find the seat harness keeps by bum up and I prefer the pull of the kite coming from my pelvis rather than my rib cage but as the guys say that will probably make rotating more difficult as I gain more experience. With the waist harness I found my arms were stretched out too far because the harness kept riding up (admittedly I was learning on the waist harness so often had my kite too high). A friend of mine (an experienced kite surfer) cracked her front lower and back ribs with a waist harness last week.

It comes down to choice - try both and see which one is more comfy but I prefer the seat one myself. The Dakine one has very good bouyancy.

I use a North Air Styler. Great harness. super comfy with the air bubble in the back.. Great spread bar and protector. Doesnt ride up.. and i sometimes use an impact vest and is super comfy and doesnt move at all with that..
