I thought i saw a posting about Hive Swimwear but now i cant seem to find it --it mentioned how good they are for Surfing/kitesurfing,and thats what i thought too when i spotted them on SS Coast so
i purchased 2 pair, they were the Bumblebee style and the top has been a disaster, the straps have an embarrassing habit of popping off the back support strap, i was walking along the beach to the surf and bang it goes, cant put it back on without taking top off, i put it back together making sure the hook was secure and checking the other side as well, then on my 4th or 5th wave bang both straps go oh great!!!now what, lots of spectators and thought how the ....do i do this back up, hiding under the water lucky the straps were long enough to tie around my neck but rather uncomfortable (not happy Jan)i dont feel confident wearing them sitting on the beach let alone kiting or surfing definitely dont recommend them not that particular style anyway

It was at the pass at Byron. When she told me I was more excited than sympathetic. What a zoo out there today. At least there has been good waves to compensate for the lack of wind.

woohoo, I never seen any straps sprung open on them to date! If they do, we should get as many chicks to wear them as possible, if they dont, we need to get even more chicks to wear them. The ones I have seen so far (cos one of my team riders is also sponsored by them), Hive has great designs and quality.

Thiing is, Elizabeth is sponsored by bee hives so of course she is going to testify that these products are more than perfect for kiting and these sorts of sports etc.

Keilian(sorry if i mispelled your name!) on the other hand is a customer who has taken up the sport and swim wear after hearing on the web and through this chicks postings etc (which were created for advertisement/promo which i was under the impressions was not allowed on seabreeze etc. another topic am sure, anyway) about it through web in good faith and has had the misfortune- not her fault if she has done it up correctly, but I'm sure she would have (it does not take a neoro-surgeon to do up a bikini-no offence lads)of purchasing and wearing faulty product(s), two purchases in this case.

What it comes down too is word against word really.

As a chick who kites and does all that jazz and extra sporting etc, bee hive bikini's or wat eva they are called has not taken any interest wat so eva they claim, because a bikini is a bikini at the end of the day. No matter how much that company wants to proclaim it does this and that etc, there will be incidences where people claim otherwise, and from whom eva's point of view it is will push people in those directions.

In short, its E word against K chick. And becoz E is sponsored....... get the drift

Such is such is.

Not meaning to be rude, but I think that what is going in to the top might make a difference. A chick that is very well endowed in the breast department might have problems with any bikini, sports orientated or not.

I for one would be willing to access this problem as a non-biased 3rd party. What was that Freud said, something about, "what's on a mans mind"

Kat,

For those who know me, I disagree. I would NEVER wear a product or ride for a certain brand of kite if I did not believe in it. I am not that sort of person who would sa that something is great just for the sake of it. If you do not believe in something, why support it in the first place! Hence why I have stopped using the XXXX brand name proper surfing made bikini's for the problems, comfort and quality of them.

However, the chances are that BOTH bikinis have had the SAME problem, I would suggest that it is not the product; moreover they are not being used correctly. Be that on the tightest setting for her and she is not securing them totally.
However, without a reply from her, I cannot determine more.

Rather than being an advertisement for Hive also, it came up as more of a review on the product by another member who is particularly interested in the bikini range. Yes I do have some things in my picture, but a photo of XXXXXX brand kite is advertising it too etc.
Sometimes things get too political when they weren't intended to.

I however do not see how writing about how great a bikini (when this isn't anything to do with me as I wear their proudct but do not benefit in any other way) is any different to writing about how great XXXXX brand of gear is if I ride for a certain brand, shop or prefer them for other benefits etc. But anyhoot

I have personally offered to Keilani who has since not replied to myself, this post, or contacted me directly. I will do my best to sort out what the issue could be (out of my own will and nothing to do with Hive).

I take of offense to you suggesting that it is my word against hers; and that because I am sponsored I am lying for the company. I have offered all I can do, and until I get further reply for her on this, I cannot do more than to express what I have found.

An easier and honest way of solving this would have also been to contact Hive directly if this was such a large problem, and I am sure Kat (from Hive) herself would be pleased to help you.

None taken. I'm sure we'd be able to do it if we ever tried, but what guy has ever been concerned with the putting on of female chest protectors, instead of the taking off...

Maybe we need some sort of competion to see how robust the bikini really is!

How about some female on female jelly wrestling? I reckon that would do it and I volunter to be the reff. I've even got a blow up pool to put the jelly in......mmmmmmmm....Jelly......!!!!!![}:)]

Any takers?

aha, there's the problem, you got the 'e' shape instead of the 'c shape' fastener. Sounds like a warranty job, perhaps the QA monkey on the production line was out having a fag and let a dud through?

I hear the "c-shape" works alot better than say, tying it in a BOW, however a bow is safer and offers better depower.
So i would suggest that if you are using a bow, continue to progress then when you are a pro you can start using the "C-shape" clip.
(unless you ride for cabrhina in which case you can do anything with a bow that a pro can do with a C-shape.)...

or some s*** like that?

CHICK FIGHT!
This is great.
It's amazing how easy these swim tops come off and how difficult it is for the average male to remove a bra. I'm going to mimick the action of a 6 foot closeout wave with my missus next time and see if I have more success.

Perhaps I am missing something here. Tell me again - since when did a bikini become an essential part of kitesurf gear? Just wear a sports bra under a rashie or something - works well.

Not every brand is going to work for every shape of woman, and if it doesn't work for you it doesn't mean it won't work for others. So before making a post on the forum did you find out if there's a reason why this happened to you and if it can be resolved?

What would be good is if you had some suggestions on why you think it's not working and offer some ideas on how it could work better for you......find a positive in the negative!

Everyone has a right to make a post about something they feel isn't working on a product they've purchased, but be fair and talk to the supplier first to see what they have to say.

To be honest no bikini I have used in the past works for kiting and surfing, I've always had to wear a rashie and or boardies so I'm interested to see if these work from an objective point of view. I'm going to take out one of the hives bikinis this weekend and it a go surfing and kiting.

There's a simple fix.

In the name of equality of the sexes, ban the bikini top.
If its good enough for the blokes its good enough for the girls

Kind of suprised anyone would spend hours on the water in less than a rashie? That goes for male and female. The irony is they are prbably wearing zinc etc on their mush.

Sure I love the view as much as the next red blooded individual (espesh if theres some unhooked action!!) but no-one likes the look of wrinkled leather with cut-outs for cancer later in life

Fashionable now... very fugly later

Oh BTW Congo (see below) is looking for a girlie that doesn't mind a bloke with half his butt transplanted on his face/shoulders where his cancer used to be Gives new meaning to the term "face like a cat's bum"

Yep years ago I used to think I was 'well ard like' surfing for hours with nothing but boardies on. Now I am older and wiser (albeit with a daggy t-shirt tan). I am in for the long haul not the quick fix matey - nothing to do with a hardness factor at all.

Im beginning to suspect we as males are not the more mature of the sexes.
We still cant see a problem.

And I love that Caelah will be on a beach somewhere this weekend testing a bikini. Testing a bikini! Doing it for science!
You go girl!

I know. I,ll try.
