Hello to you all,

i am new in this great forum.
I live in Germany 500 kilometer to the next coast and just 2 little lakes in my area.
So for kitesurfing it hard but possible. In a good year .... 40- 50 days per year.
But as borntokite says: its never enough.

My wife and me thinking about going to australia (Perth) In this case my average goes up.

However I wish you good time on the water.

Hi Ric - you're always welcome Mate! In the words of all of us here.

"Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share
;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair."

Just to increase the hate level Eppo, I'm in the Rockies heli-skiing this week. Unbelievably deep and light snow and serious mountains. The helo is taking us to some spectacular places.
Unreal experience :)

On average 2 times a week for me.....some weeks none, others 3 or 4 times a week. I have reasonably flexible hours and can get away early if the wind is up during the week.
20 mins drive to my local, love the late sunset sessions after work!
Yesterday 4:30pm to 6:30pm.......21-26knts on 13m Edge (left the 11m at home ), only 2 other kiters out, great way to finish off a Monday.
Hoping to do it again this arvo

Hi Ric & Dog!
I did the big step 10 years ago and left good old Germany and never regret it!
Thanks Dog for welcoming him in WA! It is nice to see some other opinion as some here in the forum have about guys from Europe!

Good luck with that!

Perth was windy some years ago. Not even the Fremantle Doctor can afford to live here (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fremantle_doctor).

There is a complex formula for working out your kiting days..........................

Windy days...... minus.... work, missus, kids, rellies, or dogs... divided by..... injuries, breakages, hangover(s), ..... plus......going on holidays to windless locations while it cranks at home. All tasks that have to happen on a windy day can be classed as ****ty and should be avoided by lying.

Whenever it's windy and I'm not rostered day shift, the only way i could kite more is if i was unemployed. But then how would i keep updating kites every 2nd year
