My response to some of the comments made here are :
SECARTERMUSS : I only kite at the alley when it's blowing S.E. with a decent swell, maybe because of that I haven't seen anyone causing any problems there apart from Daniel doing his usual stuff and I have had a word with him, you seam to spend lot of time at the alley so if you see anyone doing anything stupid why don't you clean up your own backyard?
theDoctor: No he wasn't screaming BANZAII... I asked him what school he was from and thats what he told me plus it's the same guy on the kamikaze kites video
Hausey : Sounds like the same crew, Kamikaze kites sell/use Ozone
A lot of you guys are missing my point; This "instructor" nearly caused a major accident, if I didn't know anything about kiting and kept on walking the kite or lines would have hit me while I was carrying a little infant, not too worried about myself here but what would have happened if one of the lines cut into him or if I fell over on top of him? This could have resulted in a potentially fatal injury!
Hi Marty72
Thanks for making locals that read seabreeze and the rest of us aware of this person.
Awareness is the first step in re-education, the "instructor" needs to be told that what he is doing is inappropriate, and could lead to bans.
@PaulJ - I'm sure GCC regs would require that anyone conducting commercial lessons on their beaches are adequately permitted and insured.
@ Hausey - Ozone Australia (me) don't sponsor any land kiters that promote beach and land jumping in public places, that endangers people ane beach access.
@ Marty72 - KK used to have an Ozone account 2 years ago, but it was withdrawn, they do not sell Ozone anymore, unless its 2 year old models. The primary reason it was withdrawn was lack of knowledge on how to safely sell and promote power kiting and kitesurfing. Other brands did the same thing.
