Good work Choicey!

Please put me down if there's any slots left.

I missed this post when I was overseas - just found out about it in the WAKSA mailout!

I have lessons booked but can get down there later each afternoon.

Saturday will be a blast! Im thinking to wrap it up in one day if there is gonna be F all wind on Sunday. So it maybe, that the fastest guys, Girls , youth and silver devils (over 50's) on Saturday will take the trophies!!
If you are intersted in getting your self a new BEST Waroo 7m(red) complete for christmas, then bid at the auction on Saturday night at ED's sports bar .
other things for auction are Training kite from AKS , a Golf bag from Angostura , Hoodies from waksa. Thanks guys for chucking in. All the money from the auction will go to RED KITE (supporting children through cancer). My aim is to get the kids between $4000 and $5000.
Good luck every one

In the intrest of getting more bux for kids, those who can't make it on the night , or if you are from interstate, then feel free to PM me with your bid on the 7m Best Waroo complete kit. I am expecting the kite to go for more than the retail of the kite ($1448.00) so if you are gonna pm me bids make them over $1500.00 keep it real, it for a great cause.

Hi All. First of all I would like to wish all of the Seabreeze users a safe, happy festive season, I apologise for the delay in getting this info up. I guess we have all been flat out with Xmas and relatives who have no idea what kiting is and don’t understand how perfect the conditions are (even if it is Christmas!).
So the Red kite Grand prix was great from my own experience and from the feed back on the day. Thank you all who helped us pull it together and of course all the hearty soles who braved the conditions .
The forecast for the Sunday was weak so we decided wrap it all up in one day and make the course a little bigger. Yeah Baby a hard slog upwind for about 20-30 mins then crack off the wind back to the finish flat out !
Most crew had two or three attempts whittling down there time over the day and a couple of smart ones waited till late and picked up the southerly shift and almost reached to the top mark .
First overall and open winner Ian Young 19.00 min
First Over 50 Wise old bull Nick Strueli 21.00min
First youth Michael Grover. 44.00 mins
As I pointed out at Edz Bar at the presentation the real winner s of the day are the families who have little ones with cancer. They and the Red Kite organisation are thankful of our efforts .
We raised $2567.25 for Red kite I am told that is a fantastic result and I will help one family for a year , Petrol money, tyres for the car , counselling, school books/needs for other siblings, or what ever it takes to help them through the endless trips to the hospital and deal with their new circumstances ..
Below is the list of times.
It is also a list of some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of kitesurfing with thank again for your generosity
Take care
Kite a lot

Choicey, you're a bloody legend for organising that. It's a pity you didn't get what you aimed for, I think wallets are a bit tight in these uncertain financial times.

I tried that trick you told me about at the pub afterwards, got another 3 good knots bottom end out of my kite today, cheers.

Couldnt agree more. Brilliant organisation and a great event. Weather wasnt kind and it certainly kept a lot away but proved very interesting for all those who got out on the water.
Gotta do it again and hope for a more pleasant day. Im sure the entrants and spectator nos. would be way up on a nicer day. There were lots who said they would be up for it but didnt show. It was an interesting one though. Bit like a Melbourne day - a bit of everything.

I think WAKSA should look at adopting Red Kite (or other deserving charity) as a regular fund raising goal. Theres a great need out there and, as Choicey has shown, we have a great opportunity to show joe public that we care & that we act.

Sorry I missed the pub end of the day (and the kiting).
