What's the go with caning post because they are getting overheated???
We all enjoy a fair argument and the recently posted GF post was a fine example.
If people are too stupid to take a joke on board, let them scream ,shout and vomit their anger.
At least we all get a good laugh about it.
I don't see how you could be held responsible in anyway so if people e-mail you just don't reply and tell them to HTFU
You could also ban all the S%%t stirrers from this site but it would make for a pretty bland boring read.

although i suspect there must have been some stuff posted or similar that most of us haven't seen, which could have caused legal implications... which is why he canned it. only guessing...

But on the other hand, the reason i come here is to read some funny stuff, and sometimes to read/give some useful kite related info... well, and coz i'm addicted kiteboarder also... but the thing is there hasn't been that much good quality humor around here lately (as another long timer mentioned in another thread also). We need more stuff like that around here... humour... good vibes... lots of videos and pics posted (without negativity that scares people off)... "sexy kite pics" thread like they do on some other forum... and almost 400 pages of it on a single topic ... bring on the good kitesurfing vibes i say...

So .. a long standing user requests his login suspended because of the grief he is getting via phone & email, and now we should all sit back and have a "good laugh about it".

Half the GF topic was removed because of the abuse that a couple of punters were throwing at each other. I can understand your comments Sebol, but I'd like to suggest you didn't see the whole story.

I don't get it. People using the forum to make life unpleasant for others. And now the suggestion we should let it run so we can all have a good laugh?

Last time I checked, this is a KITESURFING forum. Something we do for FUN... if laughing at somebody elses drama is your sport, you need to find a new forum, sorry.

Good onya Laurie, It's your ship (so to speak) so you should get to set the course.

I think you strike a pretty good balance of letting some things run for a while if there is some humour etc involved, but 'moderating' when things start getting to far off track or personal.

There is other sites around if folk's want a free for all, this is a water lovers site after all, and should remain fun and accessible to all, male and female, young and old.

I've learned kite surfing from "Idiot" at Leighton beach for free because I couldn't afford the lessons.
He was the best guy I've ever seen in this sport and it was pretty ugly to see how you all are exposing his personal life here for a good laugh.

I don't think "all" have exposed his personal life though. Not all seabreezers are that bad, and have evil intentions. Unfortunately some perhaps do. I guess the line was crossed from humorous to going over board when it started getting personal... When someone started identifying the party in question... and the stuff about personal details etc... However, Idiot could have saved him self some grief by simply not commenting. No one would know nor care if it really was him.. and even if it was, so what.

Only people who dont have fulfilled life need someone else's garbage to make them feel better. I've been accused of things related to kiting incidents in few threads over the years just because i commented on those threads (once by Idiot ironically).. but i just played along... I reckon the smarter thing is to just stay away rather than trying to defend your self as you run risk of digging your self in even deeper...

It is sad though... we've seen Alex Sanz leave... then Surfingboye.... now Idiot... (i'm not in any way comparing them to each other... just mentioning as an example... although some of them may have contributed to their bans themselves...)

In terms of HTFU - it's not something you can just do... you are either born with it, or you develop it over time through experience... but even then, you really have to be non-human not to get steered up if someone attacks you personally...

ANd i don't think anyone puts their phone number in the profile... it's when you sell your gear that you put your phone number... meaning anyone bullied out of the Seabreeze has to cancel their ads etc... which is not very convenient. I guess they can always re-open another account... Still, i don't get why would someone go through the effort of getting someone's phone off the seabreeze and calling them to abuse them, or even send emails... WTF, if there is no wind, there must be something else interesting in life that people can do instead of abusing others, or writing long replies to meaningless threads ...

in the end, we are all here coz we got something in common...

There are plenty of forums specifically devoted to bad behavour. Even Seabreeze has the "Shooting the breeze..." forum where redneck behaviour is tolerable (or even expected).

Seems the poley forum gets about 10% as much of this sh!t as the kiting forum. The infighting amongst you blokes just beggars belief.

How the hell you all plan to defy Joondalups plan to ban you from some areas with the general attitude I see is beyond imagination.

...I am not sure about you poley guys...rigging up your things in the avo (just as I did 20 years ago)....go out, have fun...but at the end of the day you have that strange urge to hang out on this forum....rarely anything positive from you......
