Well... i'm now convinced that it has finally happened ..... the once friendly and relaxed attitude that existed in kitesurfing has now developed into the f**k you attitude of SURFERS.... where did it all go wrong... it was such a great time when I started kiting...everyone helped everyone....we were once a great bunch of mates....now its ...me,me,me,me,me,me,me,me,me....and bugger the rest of you....WAKE UP everyone... before we completely role over to the single minded get stuffed attitude of those other water users.....have a great day on the water but if someone is in trouble...put aside your enjoyment for a moment and do the Aussie thing....help your mate ....( even if he is a touro )....isn't that what we love about our country...MATESHIP...

o here i was liking it for the hot b!tches and good beer weather hahaha

just for record here i had this same thing happen to me at pinnas the other day before posting on this... kiters also just cruised past didnt go down to help, one of the blokes ended up swimming out after it like a top lad, but you dont see me blowing up crying that no one stopped riding to go grab my (or more importantly darren's ) kite..

once again i dont know you personally dude but a few of my friends seem to and they say ur a top bloke.. but i just dont respect the way you approached the situation, if you approached it better im sure you would of gotten better responses.

^true.
If my kite ever gets loose i Hope someone gets it for me, I don't Expect it. I don't know where you got this mentality from. Be prepared in all situations if something happens, whether you have to swim to get it or borrow a kite and fetch it, these are all things you need to weigh up when kiting a new location. If someone gets your kite for you it's a bonus.

Someone has an experience that took him by surprise and decides to share it. And he gets slated. Damo came to the rescue (top man) but the fact that a whole bunch of KITERS just did nothing is shocking, Euro`s or not. And that`s my mentality, because it`s just common decency. Mathias doesn`t blame the locals, he simply asks is that the normal behavior at Safety Bay. Isn`t this a kiteboarding forum? So why can`t he ask? Mathias I realised a long time ago that unfortunatly there are dick heads all around us, some foreign and some local. I`ll catch your kite and anyone elses no matter what. I`ll probably come on this forum and talk about it. And get slated. C`est la vie.

Phrase, Mathias original topic was "Safety Bay - Ignorant Locals" He jumped to conclusions and was told in no uncertain terms he's out of line insinuating things like that about us locals. It was appreciated that he changed his topic title and we can all relate to him as we put up with it all season.

theres arseholes everywhere man, they will never stop me from enjoying where i am, they will always be around. If they want my help, they will get it, maybe they wont be such an a hole next time.

Teuros are here doing what we all would love to do, just hanging and kiting all the time. If they dont understand, let them know, you dont have to scream and shout or slap them up side the head (unless really necessary).

What is a local anyway, they dont have any more rights than non locals do they?

Thanks for the clarification sammyj. I was wondering why he got laid into like that.
I did have my safety go on me a couple of seasons ago (I`m not a high calibre kiter) and and these two guys, a kiter and a poley went runnung for it and caught it for me. But then only a few weeks ago I asked a kiter for a launch and the reply while he was walking to my kite was "don`t you know how to self launch your kite?" So I politely told him not to bother and launched on my own.
I guess you win some and you lose some.

It's actually an awesome location. Any spot is only as safe as the people sharing the water.

well my chicken loop popped out of the harness about 500m offshore and the lines tangled so i had to rescue . A guy stopped and asked if i was ok and if i wanted my board taken back in (cheers simon you are a ****ing champ, who knocked back the beer offer) , and 3-4 guys came and checked i was ok .

So safety Bay (penguin island side) gets a big thumbs up from me .

Sorry to hear mathias. Met you a few years ago and you are one top dude.

Were you riding a foil kite as per usual? There are so many guys who dont know the first thing about them and may have been reluctant to help. If a kite is going towards anything to do with the general public it is in all our interests to stop it. Damo to the rescue again.

im a local windsurfer.
I dont understand why you gayboy kiters hand around the same plce and never venture out past the protected pool area.
Its a bad place to kite because you all hang around a 400 metre round patch of water.
