You might think its a cool Steve. Some of us are quite sickened by your antics. You seem to lack any sense of shame?? You sold out to 'Al Kiter', your own term from last year, the term you sardonically used when referring to the 'more accepted brands'. And now you've brazenly swapped sides, ruthlessly using your manipulative sales talk against the very brand you religously advocated only a few months ago!?? Your only motivation being to sell kites, obviously...
Customer service? Kitepower better than BEST? Not so in my experience. Last year I enquired by email about the printing on a Yarga coming off prematurely. You replied to me 'it was normal', merely cosmetic and that I should 'consider using a groundsheet' to launch my kite. (I'm still laughing about that one). The truth was of course that you didn't want the hassle & costs of shipping the kite back to the US for warranty...
When I contacted BEST in Florida about the issue they replaced the kite with a new one, no worries.
So no - Steve, we're not fooled by your guffaws and self-assured chest thumping. Your opportunistic selling out to 'more accepted brands' after strongly evangelising BEST for over a year, unfortunately does not exactly evoke a sense of trustworthiness.
I will not buy from you again. Good luck...
Bo
Take it easy Bo.
If you choose to not buy from Kitepower again thats fine I respect your decision.
But please don't tell lies about us.
You never asked for a replacement kite, and if you had have, it would have been replaced as demonstrated by **** replacing it. I had already contacted **** on your behalf, regarding your problem that would be why they replaced the kite so quickly.
If it was a warranty, then it was never a requirement to ship any warranty item back to them, you are making false claims in the hope of somehow hurting the Kitepower business, good luck.
I have brazenly swapped sides because we were seriously shafted by ****, I reserve the right to not do business with people who do not respect agreements and hard work done on their behalf by others. I also prefer to stock brands that support Australian kiters, the Australian kiting scene, and who provide better backup in Australia, this is because I put Australian kiters needs first.
Just because a kite has a wacky traditional owners object name does not make it a good kite or even a cool thing to do in my book, its just American overhyped hype, and thats just the way things are over there.
I sardonically referred to the other side as the Poleclans, Al Kiter was me/Kitepower.
I've never religiously advocated any brand or religion Bo, but I refuse to hang it on the actual standard **** kites, they fly fine, and I was more than happy to sell them, thats what we do, and now we do it better than best, ok?
There was no manipulative sales talk, I was actually banned from this forum, and all my advertisements in KB mag were rejected too (although they have since caved in and printed a full page advert in this issue).
There was a pact of sorts in this country and across the world that was keeping kite prices high, it had frustrated me for years. It was maintained by the distributors of the established brands for whatever reason, how could you explain that all kites were so similar in price? (like all 12M kites in Oz were around 2 grand)
Kitepower saw this as elitist, greedy and limiting to people who were on fixed incomes, like young people, and fathers with families, to participate in this great sport. Then **** saw it too, and decided to exploit the huge loophole that the Poleclans had created, the rest is history. Now you and everyone pays less for kites.
