Tide will be running out till at least 2pm. The north eastern channel should be perfect in the predicted southerleys.

Have just finished a new board for Terri and her arm is now mended enough to kite. Also a new one for me so we are keen to put the new boards to the extreme test.

Looks like it might have a bit of West in it on Saturday... Anyone considering Wello? Have to repair families computer (Brisbane - 10mins from Wello) this weekend anyway.

Guess we will just have to wait and see as it's been so long since I've seen wind - been away - 1 week in NZ and 2 weeks in Darwin... not looking forward to how cold that wind will be if it's got some westerly in it especially after 30 degrees everyday in Darwin!!

Joffa (Goldie)

PS. Down winder sounds good....

Hey 'Slave. No theme, just need to show the local crew that I have to work sometimes. It has taken me 35 years to be an overnight success.

To the Goldie Crew .... What a sensational session at The Pin today.

Couldn't have been many kiters left down at the usual spots.

4 boatloads and three Jet Skis (28 people) took over The Pin entrance for a spectacular sight. So many kites darting backwards and forwards through the surfline at the bar entrance and the huge floaters by Pauli J and Paulio on his new Contra were fun to observe. Winds gusting from 20 to 30 knots made for an interesting ride with only one damaged back (Hernan)and one torn kite/lost bar and lines. Leon and Kath even brought baby Taj along to blood him in his dad's chosen sport.

As Paulio said " can't wait for the northerleys".

It really is a world class spot and will remain relatively unridden due to it's remoteness.

Best of all we still have a few more days of these unusually high winter winds. Bring it on !!!

Jumpinpin bar which separates North Stradbroke Island and South Stradbroke Island. I haven't kited there yet but it looks great on Google Earth.

You need a boat or a jetski to get there. Also a great fishing spot.

Kiteable in any wind direction with calm water lagoon, protected channel, sandspit inlet or surf action available. Just take your pick.

For a free ride go to VMR Jacobs Well and they will give you a lift to the pin
During summer months when the winds on for the weekend you can camp there (with no campfire) , how good is it you ask? kite all day, beers at dusk, leave your kite pumped up all night, if the winds on you can kite the keyhole an 1 foot of water 300metres X 200metres under the moonlight, crank the bonfire talk crap with your mates all night ---- wake up for the sunrise with bacon n eggs, and on the water again by 10.

Pssst, keep this to urself

hahahahahah
As if there's such a thing as a secret-spot for kiting on the Gold Coast.
Kites flying at 25m above sea level in the holiday capital of Oz,
are just more colourful advertisements on Sky TV.

30 minute boatride from Surfers, 40 minute boatride from Brisbane.

Closest residences about 12K.

Pretty remote

Point taken Fitzy.
However, when you live in Western Australia,
and you read the words 'pretty remote' in the same sentence as '30 minutes from Surfers'.....
it makes me chuckle.

By the way, that tourist resort that's located on South Stradie,
how far away is it from Jumpin Pin ?
Anyone organising kite holidays from that resort ?

Excuse my ignorance but what is VMR at Jacobs Well. Can you guys suggest a handy boat ramp close by (driving up from south) that has a good chance of the car remaining intact and suitable for the launch of a frighteningly small tinny.
cheers
