According to an instructional video I received with a trainer kite I bought, I'm now flying it with a rigid loop on the bar and a waist harness. I used a windsurfing hook which makes it easier to unhook. Can someone recommend practice moves?

Part of the IKO course and old course recommends the following:

be able to fly the kite holding for about 10 sec at 9:30,10:30,12:00, 1:00 etc.
Doing figure 8's bring from about 10:30-2:30.
For a much more advanced moves do kiteloops.(full circle of the kite) try unhooked as the power is full on.
Trainer kites are good for learning control, but timing is bad as a normal kite turns much slower....
Happy Flying..

Def try and get to a shopping centre or airport as these are large area to practise on,i learnt in a centre for 3months but we were only allowed out in the yard for 2 hours a day.Under full supervision!

Anothe good one is to try your skills whilst riding a skateboard ,use the kite to dive it under trees and power lines, this will shapen your reflex skills heaps.

good luck and keep practising

You might even get electrocuted if your lucky......

I would say not to do that particular stunt.
