can anyone recommend a hotel in Mui Ne that would suit a fairly large family reunion, mostly non kiters who want to be near the "action", for them being restaraunts and markets but also in the real action -kiting zone for myself to easily slip away unnoticed.

I can highly recommended FULL MOON RESORT. Nice facilities, not too large, right on the beach. Centrally located and surrounded by great restaurants (Local Food is great, even for the not to adventurous)

Some of the staff are excellent and speak decent english while some others are downright surly. Prices start at US$20 to $60 incl Breakfast. Sure there are cheaper places around, but I had a blast there. All ready planning to return next Feb.

WS, we have done a lot of research about accommodation and prices and this place has been highly recomended by people we know,at a really good price. It is called Bao Quynh Bungalow right on the beach next door to the Sailing Club who also have a kite school. They are on the web and looks good, matches what our friends said about the place, and we have been told the place is spotless. The staff response to our enquiries have been prompt and efficient and we are booked for Feb 08.
Apparently Xmas through to lunar new year( Feb 7th to 13th known locally as Tet) can be a little busy so booking early especially for a large group is wise. They will give you a discount if you ask for it considering a larger booking and within walking distance 5 to 15 mins you have covered most of the restauarants and night life if you are up for it!
