WAKSA AGM and End of Season Party Wednesday 18 April 2007 @ the OBH.

Notice is hereby given that the 2007 Annual General Meeting of the WA Kite Surfing Association Inc. will be held at the Ocean Beach Hotel, Cnr Marine Parade and Eric Street, Cottesloe WA, on Wednesday 18th April 2007 commencing at 7.30pm.

Please ensure you arrive prior to this time as proceedings will commence at 7.30pm sharp.

The Agenda for the meeting will be as follows:

Welcome
Confirmation of previous AGM minutes
Receiving of officers reports
Annual election of Committee members
General business

If you want to breathe life into the sport, organise and participate in events, coordinate the sport for the members in your area or nationally, or help to see the WAKSA long term vision fulfilled, you should seriously consider becoming part of the committee.

Please consider contributing to WAKSA and working with the team for a better future. If you can't make the AGM, give your proxy vote to someone who can!

For full details: http://waksa.org.au.86.aspwebhosting.com.au/News_View.aspx?Articleid=24

WAKSA welcomes any feedback, ideas, suggestions that members would like to have discussed at the AGM. If you would prefer to communicate these via email prior to the meeting then please email us at [email protected] so that we can consider all opinions.

WAKSA is also seeking people interested in running their own event, however big or small, to come to the meeting and raise their interest in General Business. WAKSA now has the infrastructure to pull off anything from a small fun non-competitive event to something as big as Kitestock. The only hurdle is man power. If you have something in mind please come along and we'll do our best to help you get your event off the ground.

For anyone who cannot make the AGM but would like to come along to our next committee meeting, it will be on Wednesday 3 April. Please email [email protected] to let us know and we'll send out the details.

The members of the WAKSA committee would greatly appreciate your attendance at the AGM.

WAKSA will be putting on some drinks for those who attend!
You could call it the End of Season Party!

For all those that would have liked to have seen a result in the state freestyle titles or seen the wave event go ahead - WAKSA needs your help!

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27100

Even if you have an idea for an event and are willing to give it a go as an Event Organiser, just let WAKSA know and they can help out with everything from insurance to music to bbq to tents and contacts to get approvals or sponsors if required.

Maybe you are just interested in helping out, anything from cooking a bbq to being a Beach Marshall, judging, safety boat, helping secure sponsorship, first aid or organising a social event like a downwinder, a bbq, an expression session, course racing just let waksa
[email protected] know via email or bring it up at the AGM.

Plus their a great team of people!

We'd really love some feedback before the AGM (party ) about events you'd like to see us put on, any questions you'd like us to answer at the AGM or any comments you have about WAKSA.

Please email us at [email protected] and we'll give the feedback at the AGM.

For those who can't attend the minutes of meeting will be available after the meeting.

End of season? So it’s like a wake? I hate funerals...I think I will stick with the 4th stage of death and pretend the season hasn’t ended and instead once winter fully kicks in blame it on the cold.

WAKSA's downwinders are always excellent!

Poor WAKSA seems to lack of human ressources though...

Events Idea: End of season gear sale (personal gear)

What about an end of season sale on one of the big lawn areas (somewhere central like Scarbs). So all Seabreeze advertisers in WA can bring their gear and all us needing upgrades can go and have a look.

Beats driving around. With all the Euro's heading back close to end of season, there could be quite a few bargains and quick sales and benifit in for all.

Thoughts?

Excellent idea, I wonder if we can get a secret room for the secret meeting. We could print out a sign for the door in secret beige, then only secret night kiters would be able to find it. A cunning plan...

Hey Brooksy and co. - sorry about the smarty-pants comments on the other post - I hadn't put the OB and the WAKSA AGM together at that point.

After being a member for a few seasons it should be interesting to see how the whole AKSA thing comes together.

Will be there for the 1st time. I will try to be nice and not get lynched until the formalities are over (even redknecks repsect protocol right?)

Hey Pat, no birthday smoochies for you!! I don't care how many beers are under ya belt or how bloody old/young ya are!!!

Clare/cygnet something may be arranged... obviously you will need to have your extra thick beer goggles on at that time probably need the dark shaded ones too.. I need all the help I can get.

Cheers

Mmmm sweet Guinness... as good as a steak and twice as yummy. Also I can't remeber 1/2 of the population of a pub getting increasingly good looking after a sirlion???

Jeez when a Guinness "re-visits" you it is pretty durn freaky tho!! Black is not a good colour to eminate from your tummy...

We will have a projector/screen/dvd setup at the OBH so if anyone has any footage that they would like to show on the big screen then please bring it a long with them on a DVD.

As already mentioned we will have the latest Andy Gordon Production featuring Ruben Lenten kiting around WA and at KITESTOCK
www.kitestock.com . If you have seen Andy's films before you will know that you're in for a real treat!

So don't be shy, the more we have to show the better.

See you all tomorrow.

Great event...thanks WAKSA.

Nice to see so many of the crew all together enjoying each others company. You guys and gals are great, no surprise that 1/3 of AKSA membership is in WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Thanks for a great season and let next year be even better.

Good luck in Brisi Brooksy, we'll all miss ya.
