Ur right windurfers invented kiteboarding, they didnt event a crappier sport they invented it as the progression. Maybe u guys should get a kite for the lighter winds and stop being so blind.

I use to wind surf years ago (not very good), also use to surf... Jeeze those to sports would have to be some of the most hardest sports to master... I've been kiting for 5 years now, right from the get go kiting was a very steep learning curve. You just have to look at some of the top level junior riders around the world, I think I saw the other day one young guy who had been kiting for just over a year !.

Both sports are completely different... My brother in-law summed it up best to me one day after I was hassling him to convert. He said he felt like he was betraying the sport which he had spent so much time & effort on mastering. He doesnt compete but he's one of the most entertaining guys to watch while he rips the absolute sheit out of every wave he rides... He and I have had some insane sessions out together just mucking around. Ive sat on the beach many times in Lanceline after a session and just been amazed at the tricks the euro's do on flat water.

In kiting I see three styles of riders/personality... The most noticable is the young gun's who by nature are just frustrating, yeah they can kite well but the attitude is larger than their riding style... Then you have the riders who have just taken the sport up because it's "KOOL", these riders are not very passionate about the sport and in my experiences they cause problems with others... Then there is the water lover, the guys or girls who has come across from another water sport, these riders are genually passionate about the sport they now call their own and work with other to promote and push the kiting world...

Brands and business aside, I fell inlove with this sport, you just have to ask my wife how much !, sorry Mel summers here... My passion for it grows daily and my group of friends that I kite with on a regular basis share my passion and we all work together to keep our local safe...

Respect Windsurfers, Surfers, Sailors, Fishermen, Skiers, Wakeboarders etc... they may save the day, one day !

regards browneee

Wind + water + some form of sail + some speed = fun... Best to keep things simple and in perspective.

well seeing as i have done both sports... i think that they both have their insane moves, bunch or ****ers, kooks, and nice ppl.

I kite, yet will jump at a chance if a mate asks me if i wanna have a shot on his wallie, go for a sail on a hobie-18, or get under one of my kites and have fun. Buschy u got it right!

as long as we say thanks to the nice ppl when they help us out, all is well, as i know that if a poley (no disrespect) handed back my board, or kite, then i think a slab would definately be on the cards after the sesh.

being on the recieving end of someone's generosity, especially after they pause their session to retieve your gear, is a great sign that nice ppl do exist, and its these ppl that are branded as a bunch of retards from the opposite sport, due to the minority of "numnuts" blasting around on a forum.

however you harness the wind, with a board under ya feet... have fun, and just ignore the LOW IQ'd idiots weather they're kiters or windsurfers.

u can say what u like but there is one particular poe at our local spot who is a complete fag

hes into the flat water jibe tricks and he always comes in and crashes right in the zone. And he will delibrately never give way for u and he will ride upwind or downwind to such an extent u have to alter course and dodge him.

most poles are that bad, but ****heads like him are very annoying to say the least.

PR,

Don't you go and start me up on trafic lights. Bloody Mandurah council has now legislated that no stretch of road greater than 15m long can exist with out a set of trafic lights

Does anyone know of the term, batt-er-up....a certain kiter (sling**** as we know him) around my way yells it out just before he is about to jump...is this common amongst kiters, or is he just a tool?

Hmmm...a strange post by Mr Fist.

A meaningless personal attack verging on stalking.

Fist the stalker.

You seem way too familar with the travel movements of the 'slave family.

Man, you're creeping me out, freako.

You should get your own life and stop over-concerning yourself with mine.

With regards to ignoring local rules, are you referring to that stupid 'NO KITING' sign at Coro?

I piss on that sign. (With my back to the seabreeze).

And Fist, what's with the dumb agro user name?

Is your right-hand permanently cramped into the jerk-off position?

Man, you're fucn punch-drunk.

Regards
'slave

I like Traffic lights but only when they're green....

Lap up the lack of them in WA. As an ex-west aussie now domiciled in this stinking craphole called Melbourne (they call it "the most livable city in the world" - yeah right maybe when compared to Soweto and Calcutta) - I would love to tell you how many traffic lights between me and anywhere but would it suffice to say that the word f*ck (uttered whenever I have to stop at one) has now lost any impact?

I think I am starting to understand the psyche of the Hoddle Street murderer...one more trip down that parking lot disguised as a road and I'll blow my own brains out let alone anyone elses.

In this city you have to move suburb with each job just to get to work in a reasonable hour...any forget a kite across town as its 80 mins+ in rush hourssss.

Well thats my spleen vented. Moving to my favourite kite spot for a summer without work commits - so that should put a smile on my dial...

Melbourne - the most livable city in the world - forecast this weekend 15 f*cking degrees and hail....Its only livable if you're a fat arsed stretch tracky wearing slob who enjoys the latte set...

Just had 2 weeks off and it was kitable for 2 freaking afternoons.

Frustrated exiled West Aussie.

Gave my wedding ring to my local surf break whilst surfing, wasn't half popular when I got home.

Ahhhhh the ocean, she's a cruel mistress but has she ever got a sweet embrace
