The fuel and diesel are 'C' kites, the turbo diesel is a bow kite. Use the search function, and/or google, and find out what the difference is (I'm too tired to type it out again).

Between the fuel and the diesel, the fuel is the higher performance kite with more time, effort and money put into its construction. It has a reputation as a very hardy kite, and consdering the amount of abuse I've given the three I've owned they have stood up very well. The diesel is a more entry level kite designed for beginners, though the fuel is not a very high aspect kite and thus also suitable for beginners. I haven't flown a diesel so can't make any better comparison.

That's a start for you.

Hey Tekno - Ive flown all of the above. Heres my 2c's worth.
I spent a short time on a low aspect beginner kite (like the diesel) before swapping to 4 line FUELS. OK back then I guess but in todays world a bad move. As Greenpat says FUELS are high performance 'C' kites which are really suited to higher performance riders who require, and can manage, the raw power. They are way less forgiving & will slow the learning curve for newbys.
The diesel was a low aspect (ie fatter; search it if you need to) kite but with none of the huge depower range of the newer bridled flat kites. Low aspect kites are far more stable as they sit back in the window more solidly and are therefore slower & easier to control. Before the high depower bows and hybrids appeared this was about the only means of tuning down a kites performance to make learning a bit easier.
All that changed in 06 with the bridled (SLE) 'bows' and the soon to follow hybrids. These really are the kites to learn on (for 95%) if you want safe, controllable gear which will get you up and running way quicker. The Turbo Diesel is SlingShots entry level SLE (supported leading edge) styled kite. Way superior for entry level than any of the 4 or 5 line 'C' kites - inc the FUELS or the more demanding SLE hybrids like the REV.
An older Diesel will get you there for a lot less money than a Turbo Diesel but it wont be as much fun or as quick. An 06TD & esp the later TD2 would be the WTG if you can afford the extra cash. They will keep you smiling well up into immediate level and; some would tell you; way beyond that for surfing.

All purely my opinion - FWIW
Hope it helps.

ps - esp this year - there a lots of good kites and good kite companies out there to choose from. For mine Slingy have always given unbeatable quality & back-up service. And remember bar set-up is important too.

Yeah, what he said. While I say the fuel isn't a very high aspect kite I am comparing it to the top of the line C kites for other brands, like the airush lift. I suppose it's still not that good for beginners. But yeah, if you go back 12 months ago one of the most discussed topics on the forums was whether or not C's were a thing of the past and bows would take over entirely. Already Cabrinha don't make C's anymore. By all accounts bows have advantages all over C's right up to intermediate and advanced levels, but I've been on fuels for so long now I know them backwards and am not really interested in changing now, as long as Slingshot keep making them. Don't get me wrong, I've owned and flown two other kite brands, but neither came close for me. I've just picked up two 07 fuels this year and they are SWEET!!!

Hi tekno... I started ktiesurfing this season. I bought a 13m Fuel with 5 lines and i'm 77kg... and on my 3rd self session i was on the board 90% of the time. Actually I forgot to mention that i've flown 5m trainer foil kite with handles for a while beforehand (but still they are completely different to kites for water). I actually find 5-line Fuel very easy to fly. I've only flown hybrid during my lessons, but i found the C-Fuel somehow easier to fly. I haven't had any issues with gusts, and in my 5 self sessions i only dropped the kite once in lighter wind. I don't have much experience with other kites, but i'm highly satisfied with this one, and don't think i'll need to change any time soon...
