just a quick question???

i enjoy riding waves, and don't own a twin tip so i go to the beach with waves, soley to ride them. and i stay away from the freestyle spots.

why do people, with little to know knowledge of the wave riding rules go out kiting in waves?
isn't botany better for big airs and trickery???

i then proceeded to try and stay upwind and away from them, (i was actually feeling a little uncomfortable and in danger)
but they seemed to follow me. i ended up going in and went surfing up the beach.

i was just a waste of a good sesh because of people riding in a way not suited for what they wanted.

please explain???

Come on, man! I am pretty sure there is heaps of space for everyone. Especially in the surf. While I do agree with the fact that some people come really close to you. But to waste a session just because there were other people doing trickery and stuff....hmmmm.....seems a bit Hoity Toity.....

when your siting on a sweet little set from miles out,

someone decides to flip a turn less then a lines length downwind of you, just out from the break zone and then proceeds to ride straight in only to do some funky 80's style air thing, its kinda ****.

and for it then to happen over and over again.

on top of that some of the other antics i saw yesterday honestly made me embarrassed to be a kiter.
I was thinking "**** if anything goes down i dunno if want to be out here associated with it".

General Public aided landings, airs 50m from the beach. WTF

i sound like a grumpy old C.U.Next.Tuesday but man it was a schamozzle.

Dude, trust I definitely know where you are coming from. I had 450 AUD worth of damages to my kite because of a stupid guy who decided to do a jump and wrapped his kite around my lines. So I know. But I would never waste a session of good wind kiting just because of that. I would be far away in the surf. Anyway, hope you have more fun next time.

I agree jb. If guys want to go in and out on twin tips they need to use some sense and stay clear of guys surfing the waves. Why do they always pick the break you are kitesurfing when they can dangle around anywhere.

I know how you're feeling.
Where I come from, on winter storms when the surf gets high everyone kites in the same beach. It's has a wave breaks about 150m out from the beach, and when you get more than 3 kites on the water, it gets crowded and you can't surf any of the waves... Too bad there's usually like 10-15 people out there.
What I usually do is wait for the end of the day and surf pretty much alone for the last hour and a half :-)
