I got demo on north dice and reo the other week. This is my first time on wave kites.I usually free ride .I love to boost ,ride waves ,down winders and all that free ride stuff.
I got the dice in the 9 m and the reo in the 10 m .The board I was riding is a shinn mutant.
The conditions where nw at around 20 to 25 knots and I was riding waves on a downwinder from Scarborough to city beach.
I usually ride a north Vegas and was keen to try the dice and the reo as I want explore waves more.

so the north dice has fatter struts and leading edge than the Vegas or the reo and has the neo pulley system.I found the steering a lot slower than the Vegas and reo but once I got used to its slower speed I pulled into a few waves and expected the kite to drop or threaten to stall like the Vegas has tendances to do,but no it sat there drifted very low .I was riding the wave to my right and I had the kites leading edge facing to the left and was able to ride a wave longer than I have ever done before. It was very easy for me to control the kite and concentrate on riding that wave .
I didn't get to fly the reo till the next day and had similar conditions ,but not on a down winder and for not as long due wind being more inconsistent.I think the reo is lightning quick and responsive and Iam used to this type of quick kite from using a Vegas for so long.I would have love to got some more time on this kite.
I thought that the reo drifted slightly better ,but it wAs kind of hard to tell as I didn't get enough time on it.The reo looks like a lighter kite because they use less dracon than the dice .The dice has 2 batons each side of the kite to and as I said a bigger profile leading edge and struts .
The dice has that Vegas style boost to it which gives it better all round qualitys than the reo .I was a little disappointed in the loop from the dice as it was wild and a little uncontrollable when fully lit!The reo on the other hand had a good tight loop.
I would love to see the dice with a smaller leading edge and struts!.The dice had more flutter through the loop than the reo.
The 9 m dice had more power than the 10 m reo and was easier to ride up wind than the reo as the reo wants to be flown very hard in the figure 8's.
All in all I need to get a little more time on the reo to suss it out a little more ,but I think for my style of boosting free ride in the waves the dice might be for me.I still want to demo and rpm too...still undecided.

Ohh a few extra things that I forgot...I thought the dice had slightly more de power and the dice flew just as we'll at full de power where the reo I felt lost a bit of turning speed when at full de power. In the gusts I thought the reo was smoother. The north bar I have always liked. The swivel is much easier to unravel than the ozone bar.too many twists in the middle lines on the ozone and your safety systems become useless.
I hope to have another go on the reo come October.
By then I can compare it with the rpm too!

Awesome diamond nice input man. Shame you were comparing a 2013 REO against the dice, wish ozone had some 2014 demos hey!

Remember a new bar come s with the 2014 REO as well, so your bar comparison is null and void until then.

Yeh get on the rpm as well, sweet!

Better if you can ride them on the same day, get a buddy and do the swap over thingy. No day is the same, especially this time of year.

Get the REO, dice and rpm together!! Now that would be something.

Just demo'd the north dice 11m down at Brighton 15-20knots.

Pretty sick kite!! From what I got out of it in the 3 hours down there it was pretty stable turns quick jumps alrite. Duno about the 5th line bar tho....? Def get the 4 line setup? If its the same feel for the kite.

Never used a north kite before, done my head in settin up with the 5th line bar. Looks like a pain in the arse to replace parts on it the front lines weave in and out of each other and all the small parts uv gotta run the lines thru. Didn't know there was a deflate valve on the tip did my head in was punpin for like 20 min and just wouldn't inflate... Done my head in! Haha anyways....

The cleat to stop the bar throw works pretty well.
Noticed there were metal rods in the wind tips? Batons? What are they for?

Would love to give it a proper shot in some decent wind 25knots or so.

Sick kite need to demo a few others, I wanna demo a catalyst and varial x.

The battons are to stop the flutter. The vegas has more through the canopy and has hardly any flutter .Most 3 strut kites generally have more flutter!
