Quite curious to hear from ozone what its gonna do better than the edge? Obviously better in the waves, but is that it? Better unhooking?? Had zephyrs before, quite frankly hated them. Love my edges, but still curious....

****ing 2400$ complete, that's a joke.

Ozone is gone. seriously, I've kited years with them but I think that's it.

dont look for another brand look for another dealer, i didnt look hard and swiped 400 off your quote, im not sure about now but a lot of kites used to go through a distributor who slaps his little slab on for doing basically what the retailer could do , who then has to make a margin generally less than the distributor and you end up with a silly quote like that, making the dealer look a c**t, the price should be coming down not up ozone must be churning kites out at the moment, i remember when people hadnt heard of ozone here, now they are everywhere and would be one of the most popular kites and deservedly so, for average joe its a big price to pay ,

Don't get me wrong: Ozone, great brand, customer service, quality and designs always up there... But yeah no matter what, even 2000$ for a kite? I can get a car that would work well for that, this is crazy. I know that most kiters are better off but come on...

Not in reference to the above comments on price

Used my zephyr last night, don't need it often but it was one of those evenings where it's just perfect - upper end of its wind range at times but i was the only person out able to consistently stay upwind, boost and even knock out some unhooked stuff - awesome session when it was still too light for some people to get out!

I remember back in 2003 paying something similar for a kite. The 2k mark. have you looked at north pricing lately?

Agree look for a different retailer. I'm sure a lot of the ozone riders know a good one!

yeh im with you on that, under 10knts leave it in the bag, however i let a bloke have a go on a race board around 7 to 9 knts once and he made comment how he was overpowered at times, 13 to 15 knts i love it, when it gets around 18 to 20 its one of the best workouts for your legs

it was occasionally dropping to about 12 kts but was generally in the 15-18 kt range which at my weight 90 kilos is spot on with a normal sized TT if a bit too much on the zeph

The price of kites has not gone up in 10 years and people still think they are overpriced, weird. Every other brand is the same too, very few have actully gone up in real terms. Yet your wages have increased 20-40% in that time. A decent pair of joggers was about 35-50, now they are double that. Cars and parts, same story.
Seen any wealthy kite shop owners lately?
Ozone dealers buy direct, there is no middle man, don't like the price? Go talk to your local dealer..... but don't expect to pay peanuts, you just get monkeys if you do that.

Please don't take it as a go against dealers, times are hard for them I know. I just think it's taking the piss from Ozone themselves. their prices have exploded in the last 3 years. It's top notch and all but it's pricing me out of quality gear and I don't think I am alone there...

Where do you get this "Ozone prices have exploded" stuff, its just simply not true, for example prices did not increase from 2011 to 2012 models, there has been an increase in the 2013 models but it is very modest compared to the real cost of raw materials and ever increasing labor rates. There is no way anyone can realistically say Ozone prices have exploded.
For 5 years Ozone struggled to gain significant market share, in the last 2 years we have clawed some our way, but how can we be expected to now decrease prices when everything including your own wages continually increase?????

As I said I was buying kites for the 2k mark long time back. They haven't exploded. But then again Dafrog you could always buy a 17m cloud and let us all know how they go.

2400$ for a kite, I cannot afford. I guess I'm jealous of you rich peeps. I'm out won't bother this thread no more.

@eppo: cloud, i decided against: no availability and stretch of sail material in the long run.

With you on this to buddy don't worry. But in sure you could get it for cheaper than that.

The TRX or the blade fat lady maybe. The fat lady gets nothing but good reviews. Look into it.

I'm on the road up North but I'm sure there will be demo's available from the Vic dealers, SHQ, The Zu and hopefully a new dealer from the SW to announce soon.
