Does this bloke even surf the waves, or just do his TT tricks?

was thinking the same. I didn't see a single ridable wave in his vid. The second clip though at least had some pretty awsome surf in it between the spinny flicky stuff. That right hander looks perfect if only the wind wasn't so offshore

James and I have traveled a fair bit with leo in Australia and New Zealand
I got to say hes one of the best kite surfers/surfers in Australia at the moment. Most people dont realize hes only been kiting for 4 years.
I am not condoning his comments as i know a lot of people who ride reos and they swear by them.
Leos a bit of a lost soul at the moment due to some heavy personal issues.
So maybe we just let this one flow under the bridge .
Just my 20c worth

No guys that is just the honesty true about the kites .
they are really good but not strong and durable
They really need to work On that.

Well the lighter they are the better the performance. The more robust they are the heavier and thus less performance.

For my style. Lighter with more performance is better.

Sounds like you need to search for a brand that has the right mix of robustness/performance for you.

Ha ha wow
Here we have plummet weighing in, the same bloke who whinges about c4s at every opportunity or the edges not being robust enough and bags certain shops and ozone at every opportunity.
What a hypocrite!!
Must have a very short memory there pal. Guess you really are one of those people who just post for the sake of it rather then just waiting until you have something to contribute.
As for leo
Im sorry you dont like your reo leo you should talk to the ceo...

Surf kiting and the associated kites are great for people who can't boost, and don't surf Indo every year. If I see another Muppet 'surf kiting' through my boosting zone I'm going to megaloop flykick them.

how's all the 'clare'voiants on this thread who know exactly the reasons in this guy's head for why he posted?
If he asked you this in the scarborough pub on a friday night, would you call out "TROLL!"
To me he says "r ur reo's falling apart like leo's?" What's so hard about that to give a yes/ no answer?
The guy kites better than the whole bunch of us put together times 15 so, to me the thread now reads,
A pro can destroy what us average joes couldn't even scratch. If this guy finds a kite he can't wreck, you an I
will both wanna know about it.

at least this bloke can ride a board strapless and do some manbouvers unlike all the other strummers on here.

Actually i never said edges are not robust enough. I said quite the opposite. I'm really finding it hard to wear my 2010 edge out. The damn thing keeps on going and going!..

I have no problem Ozone at all. 5 of my 6 kites are Ozone! Sure I don't like the latest c4's. They are not my style. To be honest I don't like the 2014 reo either. But enjoy the hell out of my 2012 cat, reo, 2010 edge and 2013 quantum. my 2012 c4 is ok... but its not my flavour anymore. I'm consider a 9 or 10 edge or a dice... most likely i will add another edge to my quiver....

The issue with this site more than others is that if you say anything even slightly negative about ozone products all the muppets who have a financial interest in ozone try to slam you hard. It ends up like this thread being a ozone gangbang. Ultimately these individuals are actually doing more damage to the ozone brand than good.

Oh well.

Matchu Lopes has the style and skills of a king. Check this edit; It's an incredibly well edited neat and tidy clip, the riding is insane and he personally makes for a good person to fly the flag for the brand.

Just as much as the riding, the rider need to have the right attitude and be personable.

Great video and great riding, but Matchu is a poor example in terms of descriptions such as "personable" and "good person to fly the flag" etc. Have you met him?? "Arrogant" best sums him up. I met him a few times together with Mitu in Sal (their home turf). Mitu is the gentle king - smiling and laughing and helping everyone, approachable. I saw many examples of it.. Matchu on the other hand: removed, distant, arrogant, uninterested. So not the poster boy you make him out to be. Damn good rider though.

Re Leo: I've seen him shred up waves of all sizes and he makes me (and no doubt most of you) look like kooks. Don't question his riding... He's approachable, personable, and will help out others, give advice etc. Having said that: he probably shouldn't be slagging off an old sponsor. Not a smart move. But I'd take his advice on my next wave kite purchase over most of yours combined! Eppo excluded of course.

@DutchRooster Matchu Lopes is shredding the waves with the power of his kite.
He isn't kite wave surfing - not riding the waves - he has way too much power in his kite as there is always tension in his lines.
