had a sweet sesh today at pt parham, 15 to 20 flat water. only thing was i got bored out there by myself after about an hour.
quite often when the forcast is rooted for adelaide metro waters, its still blowing down the gulf.
might see some more guys there tomoz!.

cheers, james

True to his word, as James states, this is the place to head if the Metro is looking a little stagnant. It came in sweet today.....ended up maxed out on my 14TD2.

Cracking spot....Glassy Flat for eons. Like kiting in a Giant Fish Tank. & only an Hour up the road from Adelaide.

Is there any wind monitors there? How do you know it's blowing there when it's not in Adelaide?

Sounds awesome! Were you there at high tide? I havnt been up there but I imagine if it's anything like sorrounding areas then it's a pretty long walk to the water at low tide?

yeh - I hate driving blind and getting burned - if I’m going that far I need to know if its coming in. Then again seabreeze has hit 16 knots at Henley and outer harbor and been glass when I get there

because pt parham is up the golf, the land is hotter, transition from ocean to land temp is greater, so the wind funnels up the golf better than metro coastlines.

it would be awesome if they put a observation tower out there, but until then its still a bit of guess work.

it sounds like a few guys went up there today, how was it?

Its a long walk out but well worth it for the flat water, tide heights from .8 to 1.2 m are smack on for flat water blasting. We are just used to the walk out to the water.

Just heard from one of them... there were 3 of them up there this avo. Enough wind to power up an 8m Havoc this afternoon, they waited until around 6pm before they went out and kited until dark! The 4wd was moved back as the tide came in... he sounded like one happy kiter that's for sure!!!

I think it is time for me to take a drive and check it out... they had such a great time, there is talk of going again tomorrow avo!

Oh and James, Congratulations mate, enjoy your moneyhoon! lol

glad to hear the guys had a blast. heres the link to google maps, theres a small boat ramp next to a toilet block, we usually set up there, around the corner towards adelaide, (thompsons beach) is a good spot for those SE directions.

cheers

were you guys really on an 8m ???
it only got to about 12 knots in Adelaide metro - that’s 15 knots more for 1 hour in the car

might be a good weekend spot if adelaide is too hot

how can you tell wether or not there is gonna be wind up that way, what forecast do you use? Its a long way to find no wind...

Passing Wind - Hydras already covered this....see above.

I reckon if there's not a strong bit of East in the forecast that'll kill a seabreeze down on the Metro, then Pazza will produce results.

Although Hydra has advised Thompsons is an option if it is a SE'ly, so i doubt you'll come away disappointed

hey guys , Ive been kiting at pazza since 2002 and its one of the best spots around for flat water if the tide is correct . The wind can do some strange stuff at paz but normally if the wind is **** at adelaide it can be good at the paz, south easter is sweet at thompsons beach . I found if the seabreeze is cranking in adelaide its not as strong at pazza , I also think this time of year with the farm crops sucking in the heat of the sun the seabreeze really cranks at pazza .
Maybe we should post when we all go to paz so you city dudes can come up and try the spot out?

Hey guys, I use to go crabbing at thompsons when I was a kid and the tide goes absolutely MILES out!! What's the min Tide you'd do it in, or do you just cop the 2km walk thru sludge n **** like a man?

The minimum tide height at parham (I think thompsons is the same) that we go out in is around .8m...(Port Adelaide height). At this height the water is about 6"-12" deep, for miles....creating world class speed conditions, if the wind is up. It's a 800m walk out to the water tho!!
So as mentioned earlier, .8m and higher is sweet.
Have done a .5m, but it's a 2km walk, or kite out thru the channel if wind is nth or sth....and if out for hour or so just come in with the tide.
Good to hear the pazz is going off...and 10 kiters out today, and none of the pazza crew...now thats just plain rudeness!!!

It was a lot of fun... a bit shallow at times but once you get to know the area where the channel is, it's a bit deeper if you want to do some tricks etc.
The walk is not a problem either, just drive the 4WD out and move it when the tide starts to come in.
I was out on a 12m Nobile T5 with a 2009 134cm 666NHP at first... (108kg), kite was well powered at times, very interesting winds there... absolutely nothing everywhere else in the state!
I took the Nobile 50Fifty 140cm for a quick run and had a ball on the flat water, it pops so well... needed a little more wind at that stage but was definitely a board I would like to ride in the future, carves so well and lands a bit softer than the NHP 2009 board.

A nice cold beer on the beach to finish the session as the sun sets over the glassy flat water... hrmm PAZZA, not a bad place at all... thanx James and Tim... oh and Rob (its about time the windhogger didn't have it all to himself) lol

Great stuff guys, can't wait to have another go!!!

If the tides out heaps far here is a solution. Strap your board to your back and if you got a landboard, just landboard out there. Leave your bopard on the beach and then bobs your uncle. Do 2k's in five minutes.

Just watch out for the rocks in the area south of the first channel marker pole, when low tide!!

I am thinking of doing the trek up to Pazza on thursday arvo, have not been in the water since robe so pretty keen for a session.
Would love some company, and local knowledge if anyone else will be around???
BOM is forcasting a 12knot westerly on metro beaches, is this likely to be stronger up north?

I would say thursday should be sweet seabreeze at the paz.
Guys please remember to leave room for the locals at the boat ramp as they drive the boats out to the channel . Dont want to get in the bad books with the locals, also if you head up on the weekend dont forget to drop in to the social club for a cold one.
cheers
