From memory it was Ian Young 2013, Dale Stanton 2014.

I believe it will keep getting better if it is supported and I can see a day when either kites and poleys will be in the same race or the kite race will be the biggest race but it's no going to happen overnight.

As anyone who did the race 2 years ago would know the biggest concern is finding the markers.
As long as they leave the course as it is now and don't change it on the day like they did in 2013 it should be ok and having less marks gives us more of a chance of having a boat on the mark.

I just hope there is some decent nuking wind this year.

Forecast doesn't look good for Sunday. If the organizers don't let us race Saturday is anyone interested in an informal race from The Point around Lancelin Island and back ... anyway you want and at your own risk, etc on Friday or Saturday?

In my case, how is an 11m going to make it back upwind? I might just stay at the pub!

I was trying to stay positive about this event but as I sit here surrounded by people celebrating and fireworks going off I can't help feeling that even if there is wind tomorrow it will be a bit of an anti climax.
I think it will be my last year unless we are able to either race with the poleys next year or at least on the same day same course before or after.

I'm trying to find some info on the website and even that is just all about the windsurf event.

Oh well with a bit of luck someone else will be happy to take our money and give us something in return.

we had 4 knots at the second mark so it was called off .

while it is all good to say it should be ran on the saturday before or after the windsurfers . I would like to knmow where everyone suggests we park approx 200 cars and where both kiters and windsurfers rig up ? While that would be the best option logistically on that small stretch of beach and small carpark you cannot do it .

It was better in 2013 when they ran it on the friday . Sunday is a ghost town in lanno

If the kiters were to leave after the windsurfers the room required to rig up would be the same. Especially if there is an hour or two difference.

Parking could easily be sorted with shuttle buses (which are already offered), however that is certainly a problem.

The only problem I see with Friday is that numbers will be smaller due to it being a working day.

In other news, the chopper pilot looked like he was having a good laugh!!

Fair call Goofy. It is their event. We have our own marquee event in the L2L.

But looking across the poleys on the beach there was barely a guy under 40. If the Ledge to Lancelin is to survive it needs to evolve and treat the kiters as equals (if not the superior form of wind use!).
