Joe, this one is robotic as well but you get to ride in it. Fuel it up, jump in and close the hatch, punch in your destination and the software will control the hardware which will take you there along an electronic virtual highway in the sky.

These have been around for some years now and would be in common usage today except for the vested interests and political influence of oil companies, car manufacturers, road builders and a bunch more I guess.

Go to www.moller.com for more info. While you are there read up on the guy himself. He built a ferris wheel when he was a kid.

It is guys that think like this bloke that have the keys to the future of the world.

Enjoy the read and pray that these sort of things will eventually happen.
Cheers Cisco

Had first look Cisco, and bookmarked the page for further research
mmmmm its got potential, interesting with the rotary. Only last night heard on ABC late night motoring garuh/galah freekicking the Sarrich engine concept with a comment "that it could never work" excuse was the wearing surfaces and sealing. I don't know but it has been very quite for many many years.
The photo you have displayed shows a concept with only engines to force it thru
the air, seemingly absolute brute power. Sorta reminds me of model aircraft where they have made a brick and a piece of wood fly, with heaps of power.
Going onto his site the illustration shows a similar bodied machine, however this one has winglets. To me a bit more believable or should i say acceptable/safer.
Not knocking, he is pushing the boundrys, as we all should.
I cannot understand why they chose a wheeled vehicle for the moon rover set up over a tracked platform, but then it may be from my hours on a bulldozer.

Moondust!!!! fine angular highly abrasive grit that chewed through vevery kind of seal and material they sent to the moon . If you have gogle earth v5 you can google moon , go the Apollo 15? or 17 site . there is a story of how they damaged a wheel guard and needed to fx it to keep the dust off the machine.
They used a plastic map and DUCT TAPE!

O.K. thanks for that Landyacht, they haven't been in the dry mulga forests where i have been 2-3 foot bulldust, fine calcrete, no cab. i don,t think that there could be anything finer. Coughed up black shiip for years after. Would come home and strip naked outside and hose down before daring to enter transportable. these forests were unable for man to walk thru and had to be cut deep enough to remove the roots, so that geo's could get there 4x4's thru/across

However Landy and Promo i was doing this post to inform you of a book that i am just reading [copy of page pasted here]. Don,t know if you are aware of this little treat or not.Its a Gem.

No doubt he was a great writer. The story before about a factual escape from custody of three aboriginal men from Broome, holding onto the rudder of the coastal ship "Bambra" who overnight hung just behind the prop for hours heading to Derby. Two didn't make it one did. Another Australian story far above crocodile Dundee, the real one.... recommend 10/10 borrow from your library....cheers....joe

today hot off the press,
the problem with wheels is finding the right ones to suit your application, today I did see mine......They were the front wheels on a Bobcat attachment, a grader blade, 18 350 x 8, my heart skipped a few beats, the knee's knocked, and i trembled all over....for some time..... "bugger" said I, "if only" moral of this story, Old men do have flushes !!!! WHEELY...!!!
