Hi Guys, great forum, some of the "old hands" will probably pick up on me, stopped sailing about 10 years ago after well over 20 years in the sport at a reasonable level. G'day Paul.
I see some questions here in regards Kiwi yachts.
Windthrill was a "knock off" of the Blokart, and subsequently successfully prosecuted for violation of some of the registered design issues.
Imac breezer looks like a Promo version of the Fed 5 (English design) which Ian was building. If it goes like a Fed, it would be very good. Euro designs are always a bit heavier for the very rough beaches, target weight when I was there was 50kg. Much lighter (I built a sub 20kg yacht) and they did not go nearly as well. We played with this with l;ots of testing. The same yacht with a total of 50kg was hugely better. I know this defies physics, but I can assure all that this is the case, (This is class 5).
Taking moulds off other peoples glass seats, is in my opinion a "not very nice practice". It has been done to me a couple of times, and I only wish that people would respect the work that you have put in (and the money involved). A prosecution was taken in NZ by a builder over this very issue, I believe that it succeeded in court.
Paul, I love the look of your LL yacht, but can't find the mast holder rake anywhere. I hope it's OK for me to build one?
Cheers

The mast rake is 10 degrees. The LLF Mini design is like the Linux OS, openscource.
Any significant improvements should be publicised and free for others to use.

I do not think you will much that can be improved though.

I think Paul will concur with all of the above.

You can save the drawings to your computer in .jpg format and then print to A4 paper.

My wooden seat version fits into the boot of my Falcon except for my mast sections which lay down the middle of the cabin of the car.

Happy building. Cheers Cisco

Hi there, I'm new to this but keen to know more about windthrills. I'm using them commercially now ( www.sailon3.co.nz ) Hiko, I now own that 002 yacht in the pic you posted. The other 2 windthrills I have don't have numbers. I heard recently that only 26 windthrills were made before being closed down by a dispute with Blokart. There are weak points with the windthrill, but pluses are the bigger wheels and the all aluminium frame. If anyone was selling theirs I would be interested

sorry about he missing angle. Gizmo isworking on a downloadable format for the plans and the correction is there. it is 10degrees. I believe it can be measured off the drawings. i will check that tho tommorrow.
All the plans are now in the shed as My office got "moved' without my choice.
would love for you to build one, itching to race ya, I'll bet your seat will be sexier tho
. given your experience , you might want to go straight to a variation like "Nappy Rush". ( look in the section titled "Landyacht Register")or ENKEL BITJER
