Ours is a salt lake, not too dry, so we bought 2kg of salt home on the yachts from a weekend of sailing.
Have you thought about doing a backwards search. find a tyre shop and try to get 4.00x8 4ply ribbed tyres. the tyre shop , if they dont have them might be able to tell you of a wheel manufacturer that can supply?
did you have any luck with the STARCO wheels, or airtrack.fr.com?

How about a wheel like this......but you will need different bearings

Avaliable at ww25.northerntooluk.com/products.asp?partno=121014E

These wheels look like the ones used on the "Potty" landyacht

That wheel is the starco pattern.
couple of thoughts. Its got a black nylon bushingthat fits it to a 25mm shaft, what do you get when you pull the bush out?. It may take a 2"od 1"id precision bearing , or a 6204 precision.
Does Potty have a website or email, as they obviously have wheels or a wheel contact?
all looking good so far

Yeah I tried backwards searching for a couple of days but most times I got those funny looking steel rims or the plastic ones with small bushes.
As for the starco and airtrack sites, I found the starco one really difficult to navigate and the airtrack site's french, ran it through babelfish and google but they didn't translate the whole page. I don't speak a word of french so I gave up.

P.S. you got mail.

Thanks Gizmo, I've looked at wheels similar to these locally.
I've sent them an e-mail about the bush dimensions. If the bushes are big enough I'll buy them.

The biggest issue I have with wheelbarrow wheels in the UK is that almost every single one I've seen uses a bolt (set pin?- always confuse them) for an axle and the crappiest smallest bush they can find.

Haha, good to see you flying the seabreeze flag over there!

Doesn't sound as if they are into construction as much as we are.

Thanks to all for the help so far.
I haven't been around as a minor disagreement (involving lots of words not to be repeated) with my ISP, resulted in the loss of my internet connection.

Anyway, Im back now and after a few days catching up with things I'll be around a bit more again.

Hills: Unfortunately I haven't made much progress at all. The main reason for this is my patient other half has almost run out of patience I've made a promise to her that our gardens and the majority of the redecorating will take priority over any of my projects. Got to say though fairs fair, we've lived here a couple years now and most of my projects have taken priority so far.

Landyacht: Thanks for the video. Got me itching to get everything finished so I can finish the LLM.

I can still get a couple hours per week (at a push) so given setup and teardown times I'll get about an hour a week. But hey progress is progress

Gizmo: Thanks for the link! The wheels are perfect if a little pricey (They come in at £25 per wheel including postage). They'll be ordered in the next week.

I got chatting to a guy who came into work a few days ago. He's giving up surfing and has sold almost everything.

The items he has left are a carbon fibre mast thats 4600mm long and a sail thats 1600mm on the clew and 4400 on the luff (4.6m2 total). I haven't seen them yet although I'm told they're in good condition but the price is bang on!

Can these be used for my LLM build?
I'm sorry but I can't tell you about sail shape, material or anything else that might matter.

Again a big thanks for any replies
