Just thought I would let people know my experience of coming into Indo.
After reading so much hype, dramas and stories over the last 18 months I would like to say we had no trouble entering Indonesia.
We arrived in Benoa Harbour (Bali) late one night last week. Next morning with our CAIT, passports and documents we went to the various authorities and got signed in without a hassle. Lots of stamps and friendly smiles.
No talk of bonds, payments or bribes.

If you are contemplating going. Do it. Don't believe the scare-mongers out there.

No. That happens when you come back to Aus.

Customs and Quarantine have gone over the top ballistic in Australia.

Have heard stories about people getting fined $6,000 just because they did not let customs know they were coming in and for not arriving when they said they would.

Word has gotten around and many in the international cruising fraternity are avoiding Australia like the plague.

Luck you

I went on the Bali Race last year and got stung a lot more than flying there with the whole family would have cost.
But I did put some of this down the the poor organisation from FSC, althought they did a pretty good job overall, the customs side certainly could have been coordinated better. I hope they have learnt for next years race.
