Hi all

They are in Marshall Bay on Flinders Island at the moment after motoring for most of the day

Conditions are good but there has not been a lot of breeze

They have motored for a total of 36 hours over the last couple of days and they say she has used abut 30 litres ( i believe this is 1/2 a tank) of diesel so she is fairly economical and they have a spare 40 litres onboard as well

I am sure the conditions are good, they are near the edge of a high but I'll bet it is cold.

I hope they can top up fuel at Flinders because I think they are going to need it.

I am sure Hayden's work on that Buhk will make sure Driftwood gets where she needs to go.

Check out this low forecast next Wednesday half way between Tasi and Antartica. Blowing 60+ knots (average not gusts). I know it will not reach Tasmania, but I would hate to be down south next week !

Time to take a breath and settle down - they are not in Antarctica - have a look at the Tassie East coast forecast.

Yes I know, I meant by down way south of Tasmania. East coast looks sweet.

Hi all

I spoke to them this morning and the spent the night in Bicheno

The plan is to sail to Triabunna today and then a couple of days back to Port Huon

They have done a fair bit of motoring and the boat has been going well so Hayden did a good job with the rebuild

Don
Looking good with good northerly stream until Wednesday afternoon.
But the last part up the river on Wednesday afternoon will have a bit on.
So I got it pretty right?
I only ask because I have a Brisbane to Port Huon delivery coming up.
Hope I can motor as much as your mates did.

Hi all

They arrived here at Port Huon at 5.30 this afternoon and said they had a great time

They motored a lot of the time but the Bukh ran perfectly

I look forward to going for a sail on her and seeing how she compares to my Sailmaster

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread

Glad to hear they made it safely Don. No doubt they'll be happy to be in ahead of todays gales!

Hi 2Bish

They had a big day yesterday to get back here and were happy to put her on the mooring last night before the front came through today

It was pretty windy down the Huon this afternoon but there is nothing much happening tonight

How are things where you are

Hi all

I thought i would post a photo of her looking pretty on her mooring in Port Huon after the trip over from Melbourne

As we all know Hayden (HG02) put a lot of time and effort in to her over the last few years but was not able to finish her off

Best of luck to you in the future Hayden and rest assure she is in good hands and sailed and motored across beautifully

Regards Don

Hi Bananabender

To be honest I am not 100 % sure

I sat out on the boat last Saturday talking to the new owner and his wife but i didn't take much notice of what was up there

Today i had a rdo and was sitting at our kitchen table and there was a bit of sun outside (for a change) and I looked out and saw her and thought she looked nice so i took the photo that i posted

I know there is a light up there and the other things that are sticking up look like little aerials but i will have a better look tomorrow with the binoculars

She looks a bit nose down bum up sitting there but I think that there is a fair bit of gear in the box under the v berth and i assume that if there were a couple of people sitting in the cockpit it would help level her out as well

Regards Don
