Not at all it is making good use of a buyers market, had it done to me when I sold my Farr that what gave me the idea, the guy that did it was not that clever..... he use the same phone number

Ebay is different some peeps get family and friends to bid to up the price and when you make an offer it is a binding contract. That is dishonest in my book.
Prefer dealing with peeps doing strategy than time wasters that come to have a look and pick every little scratches to offer a ridiculous price, most of the time they don't have any intention to buy the boat, or want to go for a sea trial. I ask for a $100 deposit to go not refundable if the deal is not done except if the boat has a big fault not mentioned at first inspection (leaking water, dead engine.....)
