I think it will be good, I have the Max battery system arriving shortly. I ride FD and Duotone Assist, the Duotone is great however run time is too short. Foildash will hopefully give similar run time to FD.

It’s a catch 22, more run time means more batteries and more weight attached to you. When I did a demo of the Duotone the weight on my waist was annoying but I guess you would get used to it.

I initially thought the Duotone would be great for flat water pump training but the belt bounced a bit while pumping and your legs still fatigued as quick due to the extra weight. I decided on the Foildrive Slim for that purpose.

I started on the FD Plus kit and progressed to the Gen 2 but never really enjoyed the loss of feels that you get having an aluminium box and battery jammed between the most important connection, also the weight on the board was a killer, I ended up using the slim kit which was better but this waist system is another level of performance.

I am just running a modified waist system at the moment so looking forward to some reviews.

Wow, your board is so thick, no wonder you didn’t want to add a Gen 2 Max between the mast plate and board. My board is 12mm thick in that location, gives excellent feel and probably less distance than most boards without a Foildrive fitted.

Weight is a bigger issue.

Plenty of prone guys have tried and are VERY good riders and they all felt the difference, if you like all that weight on your board thats cool, this is a conversation about something different not whats better.

That's a really good honest review , the unit looks well built with good run time. Just a bit concerning the battery heating up in a sealed casing , plus that's a large capacity single battery strapped to your spine. Doesn't say what type of Lipo battery it is . I know the DT is a different type less likely to fail and that adds a bit of weight and shortens battery run time but is much safer plus it's 2 smaller batteries not one very large one.
