Ok this is a big call but i'm up for some red thumbs. 9'5 Mana is the board of the year for me so far, this thing rips and after seeing some random people surfing this board and doing things i have trouble doing on a 8'10 and have to chase them for a hour to get it back i'm sure some other people think so as well!! We had people from 60kg to 110kg surf it and it worked well for them all super stable very easy to get waves and nice and lose i seen one guy get all fins out on 2 turns on the one wave Blew me away and by far the most talked about board here for the last 2 days as most people can not believe how well it goes.

That's great Jacko..

I was tossing up between the 9'5" and the 10'er.. and after only a few minutes on the 10' Mana I was thinking maybe I should have bought the 9'5".

I'm still happy.. btw.. They must be made strong.

I was paddling out as Oliver was paddling in on a chest high wave.. He wiped out and his board came flying towards me.

His board hit mine in the nose area and I heard a crunch sound like if you crushed an ice cream cone in your hand..

I almost didn't want to look.. But it was fine.. not a mark.

Poor Oliver has to get a ding repair on his tho...

Hey Jacko, Is the 190 litres for the 9'5 as quoted on the Naish site correct?? Will you have one at the demo day this sat?

Yes 190L is right but it hides it really well and weight is less than the 11'4 from the feel of it. Yes it will be there for the Demo i'm trying hard to have nearly every board there but don't worry there will be plenty of goodies to try and dont forget mater chief Marty will be manning the BBQ.

Hey Jacko,

I'm keen to know what the dimensions are?

I have ridden 7 different 9'6 to 9'4 boards and none of them have had any more than 140l in volume.

If the volume figures are correct it has 53 l more volume than other similar boards in this 9'6 size.

Do you know anyone with a demo in Melb?

I would love to try one out!

Hey Phill and Brendan.. I'll give you a call tomorrow once I see if SHQ or RPS have a 9'5" Mana demo board.

I think the 9'5" is going to be a big seller for sure... It will also a great board for girls.. That's why I got the 10'er........ Just kidding..

I am hanging to try the 9'5" Mana. I rode the 10'er yesterday and was totally blown away by it's performance. 10' x 32" x 4.75" and 210 ltrs. I hadn't even considered this board at first, But now i'm in for sure. New quiver for me. 10' Mana and 8'10" Hokua. Keeps the misses happy and me even happier! Both boards performed outside expectations.

Sam, Quinnie and Aido took some of the new gear down to palmy yesterday so we could have a try, the surf was next to flat, but there was a few coming through if you were patient. Enough to get a feel for the boards. I tried the 8' Hokua, 8'10" Hokua, 9'3" Hokua (which i already ride), 9'6" Nalu and 10' Mana.

8'0" Hokua - This board is small. I was just doing circles scared to change sides with my paddle. Never really getting the board on top of the water. But it looks super sweet. Maybe if I loose 20kg's.

8'10" Hokua - This board blew my mind. I had to swap back and forth with the 9'3" to make sure it was really everything I was thinking. It is. Not that much less stable than the 9'3" but a whole world of funky loosness. It even feels like it paddles faster, and catches waves easier. Definitely getting one of these.

9'3" Hokoua - This board I have been riding for some time now, and really love it. Loose and drivey. Until yesterday unbeatable performance.

9'6" Nula - Surprisingly fast to paddle. at 28" wide it was a little rocky at my weight, but feels like it will nose ride nicely, and is plenty loose when you step back onto the tail.

10' Mana - The silent achiever. I laughed at this board when I first saw it, linking it with un co-ordinated first timers. At first I put Katie on it, and she loved it, super stable and paddles fast for a 10'er. But when I looked up from the beach to see Sambo driving huge cutties, I had to get back out on it to give it the real justice it deserves. This will be my second board now! Big enough to take the kids paddling, easy enough for Katie to enjoy the sport, and surfable to get awesome performance in sloppy conditions.

It always becomes a worry when a brand expands their range, with now a 21 board range. Naish have covered every specific need for every riders requirements. The board bags are great, and the new paddle is sick. Was great to get into the water yesterday with the crew. Looking forward to Mambo......

JB's right the Mana boards seem like the perfect quiver as they are great at getting the girlfriend/wife/hubby in to the sport and is also a great board to complement a nice little clean day board only i know, i will have one in my fun quiver.

Well i had some of my fitness girls jump on the 9'5 and 10'0 mana for the first time yesterday and they couldn't believe how easy the boards were to kick turn around in the flat but also how stable they were on the boards too.

Got 2 of my girls out the back of currumbin without falling in and catching waves like pro's with in 10min. Plus were was a small windy lump on the ocean.
These 2 girls have been out in the waves only 3 times before but could never really get the catching and riding waves thing dialled in. On the 9'5 and 10'0 mana they couldn't stop catching the small waves, loving life.

These 2 boards are gonna rock as an all round fun for all.

Haven't had a chance to try the Mana boards out in the surf yet, but paddled the 9'5" and the 10' in the flat over the weekend and was very surprised at how well they paddled for a wide board and the ease with which they turned. I almost fell off the first time I tried to kick turn the 9'5" as it spun so much faster than I had expected.

Watching some of the guys wave riding on these boards was amazing, they appear so loose and a couple of the bigger guys were really ripping. The combination of stability and rippability make this board a winner for almost anyone.

Can't wait to try it out in the surf and definately a board to consider for the quiver.

Hey DJ, Yer thought I'd better show my mug again as we are coming into Summer (can't wait). I'm always mixing and matching fins. ALready tweaking fins on my new 8'10". I have really found the M5's and M7's super sweet on the 9'3", so I'm going straight to the m7's on the 8'10", however the stocko fins look very sweet, I just want a bit more size. I haven't gotten any smaller!!!!

JB,
DJ,
does the 10' Mana catch waves as early as the Nalu 11'4''?
I ordered a 11'4'' before the 10'0'' came out, but after reading your comments I am unsure if the 10'0'' isn't the better choice now and more fun even in smallest waves.
How about the glide in comparisson 11'4'' to 10'0''. Is the 10'0'' much slower and much more effort to paddle?
Many thanks in advance for your reply.

one more info.
My current board is the Naish 10'6'' but with 88kg I miss some more float in choppy conditions. thats the reason I want to change.

I think you'd be better on the Mana but it depends on what you want it for.

I loved my 11'4" and it feels like a big long board.. the Mana feels like a big short board.

If you want to do distance paddling or down-winders I think the 11'4" is the better board.. Also I think it would charge bigger waves better.

If all you want is loose turny wave board that's very stable and lots of fun.. The Mana is the best board for sure..... IMO..
