good point jacko, also add socks.
Aggression has always been a part of surfing in populated areas.
Man up or take up lawn bowls I say

I find crying and saying 'why do you cool guys always pick on me' works a treat.

Nothing confuses the crowd like a grown hairy man on a big board in tears.

Sure. Are you that learner girl who couldn't duckdive that I mentioned earlier? Try to stay out of the way next time, it's common courtesy.

I know Oliver has lost a lot of weight and a hair cut but I didn't realise he was only half a man hiding behind thumbs

No, Legend, wasn't me. I was busy out the back with my mates calling each other into the next set after your awesome wave. Everyone thought you ripped the bag out of it, by the way, but we were too in awe to say anything.

Ah, sorry. Next time I'll try to take it easier, Learner Girl. I noticed you were still so in awe of me you blew your takeoff and went over the falls. Better luck next time.

I live pretty close to the farm and I could have warned you that was going to happen, its not good but I would have expected it.

I have lived here my whole life and I have seen some pretty bad things go down. Sometimes warranted and other times not. The majority of South Coast locals do not want sup's down here. Its even been hard for me. I was strictly a shortboarder and I'm a local at one of the more localised breaks (name withheld) and I have never sup'd my local break!!!. Ive now been suping for over 12 months and I only go out when no crew's are around and surf other less desirable breaks.

The reason being is some sup'rs (tourists) have come down and pissed alot of the older locals off. I even witnessed it, 5 sup'rs grabbed every wave they could and showed no respect to anyone in the line up, one sup'er even landed on my friend. That sup'er was sent in packing. So they have banned together and sup's are no longer wanted. It might change later on but for now I can say, if you come down here just look around and see what the vibe is like in the water. It might be better paddling 100 meters down the beach. The people that live here are friendly but their first impressions of Sups weren't nice.

I think that I said that in the 3rd post of this thread, if you are getting greif go down the beach ect, its not rocket science

When you first paddle out grab a few leftover waves to warm up and assert your right to be there, then paddle off to your own private peak further up the coast.

If you are a really a good surfer then it's reasonable to make the first wave a primo set wave but only if you can rip it to shreds and you're not stealing the wave from people already in position.

This makes the political statement that you can surf wherever you want but you choose to surf somewhere else. ie You are going somewhere else because you are a good person, not because they are intimidating thugs.

Not sure what you do if there's no other peaks nearby. In good conditions it's no drama to paddle a short SUP a kilometre along the coast. It only takes 15 minutes so you can usually do it between sets.

Interesting back story. Puts the OPs post into perspective.
