I have paddled it in the flat and almost non existent surf on the sunny coast but I think scott from greenline has been surfing one for a coupla days this week. They seem to be (in my opinion) a board made for experianced heavy guys who want the ultimate beach break board. I weigh about 75kgs and I found it fairly corky and a tad unstable but that was simply because I didn't have the body weight to sink it enough to get it to really shine. It is a good looking board and definately a beach break board (massive amount of nose rocker) There is no way anyone could ever nose dive one of these things. A coupla of bigger guys who also tried it the day I did looked much more comfortable on it and actually found it more stable than I did. It also has a bit of a rolled deck which takes a bit of getting used to but that wouldn't take long. They seem like a fairly good board/brand and the prices seem pretty good. I'd be keen to try the smaller 9fter when it arrives in the future.
Pretty sure there will be a demo one of these up the sunny coast next weekend to try as well.

Scott from greenline at mermaid beach has had a demo 9'6 for a couple of weeks and has surfed it heaps and I am sure he wouldn't mind you giving him a call or pm and picking his brains on it. My personal opinion on the board is that it would really suit a person over 80kg who intends to surf beach breaks all the time. It has a massive amount of nose rocker and isn't the worlds best paddler - probably due to the huge amount of rocker but it really does perform very well in steeper and suckier waves.

I have ridden the board on two occasions and I agree with BB's comments. There is a lot of rocker which does help in steep take-off's. I am 95Kg and the board performed well for me the first time I used it in a beach break. The second time I got to use the board was 2 weeks ago small surf and after just 10 min on the board a Shark came and hassled us ... so I can't really comment more on the board.
So far I have been really impressed with the board and I am considering buying one myself.
I should be riding one again today so will try give you more feedback tomorrow.

Hey surfrod - jump onto corebans website and get in contact with the south african crew. they have regular events and you should be able to get some quality time on the whole coreban range if you time it right and get something sorted with the boys.

Hey Surfrod66,
I'm in Cape Town and always up for a surf ;). Let me know your dates if you going to be in Cape Town at all and I will hook you up with the Coreban guys and get you on their entire range of boards. Ivan and Barend are always keen to hook up for a surf so we can get you on the 9'6 or the new 10'0. Let me know if you are going to be elsewhere in South Africa and I will try hook you up with local crews in the area

We do have the Coreban Core Series on in December which will be an epic event with a downwide paddle, surf, and flat water race events. Building up to the events Coreban has started a weekly Thursday night events, which is both training and a fun social gathering that is helping promote SUPping in South Africa.
The local events scene is really starting to get going here and it is exciting to see how the sport is growing in Africa with the help of Coreban, SUPHQ.com, Naish, Bilt, etc.
