Try the back beach if you have a 4wd you can drive onto the beach and find a quiet spot, its around the point to the south of the main town. Take the backstreets in that direction and you will come to a car park. Keep going if you have a 4wd, otherwise hike it over the dunes. or try the channel straight out the front if you are game for a decent paddle out there. also drop into the surf store and ask. Last time I was there the guy had a SUP and seemed to use it locally.

Try Hole in the Wall if the swell is up. It's an 800m open water paddle straight out west from the main jetty to the reef break
