Here's another (mini) movie festival of my recent trip up the coast. Due to some misadventures with my normal, self operated, equipment (the stolen SuckerCam incident), I've had to resort to bribing my daughter (11) to sit on the beach/rocks and film me. She charges a bucket load too - a private father/daughter viewing of High School Musical 3 for one hour of filming!

Due to the lack of suitable equipment and availability of crew, there will only two movies playing this festival:

"Dolphin Peak" (G)
I surfed this place every day of the holiday and every day I had a cool encounter with dolphins. On two separate instances I had one launch itself into the air no more than two metres from my board. It's awe inspiring to see such a huge, wild, creature moving with such speed and grace, so close. Got some fun waves too.
Starring: Casso, Sulley, Mr Methane.
Duration: 2 mins 11 secs
Screening: Sunday 19 Apr 09 - 7:30pm (AEST)

"Seal Point" (PG)
Didn't see any seals on this day but apparently once upon a time a whole heap of them lived here. A very crowded day with lots of beginners creating havoc but the odd really good wave coming through.
Starring: Casso, Sulley, Mr Methane, Little Lachie.
Duration: 3 mins 14 secs
Screening: Monday 20 Apr 09 - 7:30pm (AEST)

I'll post the movies into this thread when they are scheduled, so tune in each night and enjoy the show(s).

Casso, keep your daughter onside mate, she's doing a great job. I'm with the boys on the land shots much easier to see that smooth style of yours. Rodriguez

they do it in china (chinesse sweat shop style) why not do it hear

give her a big rap from all of us then

chain her to that camera permanently

nice little vid

and yes the land shots are so much better to watch than the board cam

cant wait to watch the next exciting installment

Madi says thank you for all your nice comments on her filming. Unfortunately she has now retired from that career - choosing to focus her efforts on homework, flute lessons, reading teen romance novels, watching High School Musical I, II and III on DVD (over and over), annoying her little brother and IM'ing her friends. Apparently these activities are much less "boring" that watching her Dad surfing.

The lights are dimming...

It's just my Canon still camera which has got a video function. It's a PowerShot S5IS, 8 mega pixels with a 12x zoom. Takes photos like an SLR - great camera, I love it.

Yeah Robbo, I'm very happy with my new PSH 9'3" Ripper. Get it on a good wave and it just shreds.

I called it Sulley because apparently all my boards have to have a name - and the names either have to be an animal or a character from a Pixar Animation movie (according to my son, Lachie). So now I've got/had:
- Tiger
- Turtle
- Woody (from Toy Story)
- Sulley (from Monsters Inc)

Yeah, a cool moment. I love that shot and had to put it in there. He'd just come running down to me as I got out to ask me if I could go for a swim with him.
