I've got Dales original DC8'10" and man that board rips! It's hard to get back on my 11' after this one. It just likes to surf shortboard style - no long board moves on this baby.

hi, that board is still one of the best made. i was an owner for a little while
cheers

Lacey, how's that new one coming along?

I must say that once I started surfing your old one it has been hard to get off it. Its a gem.

I will be there Sunday - I hope that wind dies off a little and we get some waves.

I'm all for experimenting so will give those fins a go. The current setup feels pretty insane but if it could feel even better....

I might be taking that board over to South Africa in a few weeks. There are some hot surfers getting into SUP over there and they are all riding standard boards. Once they see Dales DC8'10" they will be frothing....

Hey Guys,

After a few sessions on the 9.4 it makes my 9'6 feel like a tanker

The speed this board produces is insane.

It only likes one mode being on a rail!

Kristi rode it in 6-7ft faces and ripped on it and she is just over 40kg.

I have had 12 people demo it and they are all addicted, dale should call it the cocaine model

This is a winner for sure.

Howzit!

I land in Jo'burg next Thursday (10th) and will head straight to JBay if its cranking (shortboard). If there is any action at Dungeons I will try and hook up with Twiggy or Jason Ribbink and head straight down there. Otherwise I will head to Durban (as I'm and ex Durbanite). If I go to Durban I will hook up with all of the SUP boys there check out what they are up to.

Still not sure about taking the DC8'10" over as it will be a hassle flying over there with it. A lot will depend on the surf...

You in Cape Town?

yeah, based in Cape Town. Ex Durbanite myself so I also try make a trip there every couple of months while living here.
There have been some epic days here at Dungeons over the past few weeks and we have seen some of the best surf in recent years. The outer reef at J-bay has also been working of late.

Let us know if you do make it to the cold waters of the Cape

BP,

Yes it was the 9,6WAA I was refering to, but lets put things into some perspective.

The 9,6WAA is what it says it is an All Arounder. The DC 9.4 is 2/3 its weight seriously more rocker and 2/3 its plan shape. So you would expect it to be faster looser and more HP.

I love the DC in big waves but I cant see myself riding it in 6 inch OG.

Like Matty says "Dont Take A Knife To A Gun Fight" get the right stick for what you want to do!

How many SUPers are there in RSA these days?

You guys should get yourselves organised into clubs, if you haven't already done so yet. We started a SUP club on the Gold Coast a few years back and now we have clubs springing up all the way around Australia. One of these days we will be able to have national inter club events and then move up to international events.

Why don't you start a few clubs (1 in Cape Town, 1 in Durban etc) so that you guys move along with where things are heading? If you want any helpers we can share with you from our experiences so far...
