I want to look at replacing the fins on the board, I want a good all round set but with stability being first choice.

Can you recomend a full set centre and side bites.

Or am i just better to replace the centre or just side bites?

I see the futures website has a didicated sup set but not sure what these are like or if they are what im looking for.

Hi BP ,

I have used FG5's in the sides and a 6" back fin that was a good set up for 9-6 w-ripper.
For more stability try a 7" back fin.

Im now trying FCS Sunny Garcia fins all round and board feels even looser but more difficult to paddle straight.

The factory center fin is just OK ....but there are better fins available.

PC7 will make the board more stable but suit a heavier rider.

Im 83kgs and found the FG5's perfect ,so not sure of your weight.

BP .... fins are personal choice you might need to try a few options and find what works for you.

When does your new board arrive ?

Hi,

Richard im 85kg I dont have the choice of fins here unless i open the credit card and purchase them all.

I trust your judgment. I missed out on a used set of g5 last week as i thought they were no good for me ahhhh.

My board in in customs as we speak, Should be released today or tommorow

I am stoked, Cant wait

So if i get g5 sides and a fluid foil centres 7 inch this is going to be great for stability. and once i get the grips of it more i can replace the centre with a full thruster set ekkk.

What model fluid ?? Dolphin cutaway ??

Ok, so what you are saying rich is stick g5 sides in and a 7inch fluid same as yours.

But once im going better get the fluied 6 inch as pictured

So 7inch for stability for now and then the 6 latter

But all at the same time sticking with g5 sides

I tried to find you on the net no joy= strapper

Yep our site is going to be back up again soon after a re-build......

FG5's in sides for sure and go 7" Future performance longboard fin like pictured or 7" Fluid foil (dolphin) both good options for now .

Buy a 6" Future fin later for more performance.

BP you can also use PC5's. I found it hard to get the FG5's....older technology I was told.

Now that everyone's raving about Naish i think we can safely mention PSH again . I've ot PC7's sides and a Performance 7" centre on the 11'PSH and PC5's on the 9'6.

How much are a set of fins in your neck of the woods?

BP where you live in NZ?

I have a mate who makes very good custom fins - he will make any size you want & great prices.

PM me for more info & remember we're going for a paddle when you get that board sorted

BP do you live somewhere outside of the internet?

No not "Pipefins" just custom polyester fins - very good quality, any size / style you want. I'm not a dealer or anything - just know the guy who is a local fin-making legend... Dont have to buy brand-name fins - just draw a template of what you want & hey-presto it's made for half the price of the brand-name fins.

I make the odd thing or two myself... Recently I've recycled some massive old windsurf fins - cut them down & reshaped them - Got a favourite fin by doing that and it works well, good to give old junk a new lease of life ay

But i like to buy over priced brand names, It makes me a better person.

Where are these fins made what part of our clean green country with waves for miles and no bugger to be seen.
