I would still hit Blue Planet for the best boards, I think they have soft racks they loan out. Strap that thing on top and head for the North Shore.

Waikiki next weekend for a week, after reading this thread I'm looking at hiring a board from Blue Planet for a few days and maybe a couple of tours from Big Wave Dave. Like riding a 10ft with a bit of cross stepping and the occasional attempt to nose ride, any recommendations wave wise to check out? Canoes maybe

Just go a sparrows anywhere. The locals and tourists are all late risers. Had great waves from ala moana through to Diamond head. Lovely part of the world, even when crowded
