I set it up. the rudder feels nice. I found i had to stiffen it up from the front adjustment. What i was going to ask. Do you use both sides of the boomerang? I find im only using one foot. So was thinking i might take the other side off? Also did you use one off the plastic washes on the fin, between the fin and board?

Ouch. Maybe a handicap race is in order... Lummers on a Starboard POD and a bunch of us plodders on 17' Glides. And I fear he'd still have to give me a 100m start.

How does the 17 Glide comPare with the Starboard K15 now that the latter has a steering option?

Well I had my feet on it today.. Matt let me have a go of his new 17'er... Here's some pictures.



Here's where the rudder wires meet the rudder itself and the cable adjusters.



Here's the carbon fiber boomerang.. One side should come off depending if you're a goofy or natural.



Flipping the board you can see the sharp rails towards the tail area.



Here you can see how far the fin/rudder is from the tail.



This view shows the displacementy shaped front section and super soft rails.



Look at the nose from above and it look fine and petite.



Look at the fat arse.. and the board's tail is pretty chunky also.



There's no water going to wrap over the tail area when it's that thick.



Paddling the board it was very noticeable that it has less nose rocker than the 14 and felt very different.



The rocker is seen better in this pic.



I'm looking forward to paddling it on flat water and on a good down-winder.

Matt was doing his lifesaving duties at Williamstown beach and had his new board with him.

I rode over there after work.. I avoided all the traffic hassles and parked right on the footpath at the beach..

All I needed was my boardies..

Nevertheless, I have a buddy asking me to bring my boards down to Williamstown beach for a paddle this week. Is it a good spot or terribly crowded?

This arvo it was packed like sardines .. and not a good place to paddle when there's a sea breeze blowing.

I see Matty looks like you put yours in the middle also.
Seems ok for me too and I am about your weight but I have only done one downwinder in about 12 to 15 knots. I may need to be further back when its windy?????

Scotty that batten is to adjust the tension on the boomerang..

Forward makes it soft and very little force needed to move it.. And back the batten becomes shorter so it's stiffer and more force is needed to push the lever.

Paul and Matt have theirs all the way back so it's at it's stiffest.

Have you taken one side of the boomerang off?
