I'm a baby at this sport with my NEW board less than a week old. Going on advice from the seller, I went with a very reasonably priced Naish as opposed to cheaper boards that he used to push but found himself far too busy doing repairs for unsatisfied customers. Paying the extra couple of hundred dollars seemed a no-brainer for a proven durable plank.

That said, I also recently purchased a 3-year old Toyota Hilux instead of going for a new and cheaper Great Wall ute. Similar reasons.

A major factor for both purchases were the potential re-sale value but I can't see giving up either for the next 10 years if they live up to their reputation.

1st sup - new...traded in a 2nd hand w/surfing board for it. Although I might look at a good 2nd hand sup for my 2nd.

Reason - The demo sup that I originally wanted sold the previous day & I wasn't going to do the 800km round trip with a 165lt w/surfing board though Melb again!

First board was new, cheap, and had everything included, also got it off e-bay. Not glassed that well so I've inflicted a lot of damage on it. Next board considering top price because I think it will be stronger, probably would like to get older model and save money, but would also consider second hand if it was in really good condition.
