hi all, just bought my first sup today, a starboard whopper. had a fun paddle along currumbin creek today, cant wait to get it out in the surf.
can some one tell me what the phillips head scew is in the deck just above the handle? i proberly should have asked the sales guy, but to keen to hit the water.

Mate I think it can be used as a wind surfing board as well. The screw is for a mast for a sail.

Its a breather hole for travel/heat take it out when you travel or have board in the sun for long periods.

Just remember to do it up again if ever you undo it... you dont want water in there!

Would of been good if the sales guy had explaned to you that there is an oring seal under the screw that needs to be checked every so often for deterioration.
If its a 2nd hand board I would be checking the seal before your next paddle.
Anyway enjoy your sup
