Classic old surf car and classic old surfers.

VanSam after an engine transplant and six months of sitting doing nothing while the daughter wintered in Queens town.
Cleaned up and rusty warped chinese roof racks removed.

VanSam, on his first post engine replant trip to a succesful Merideth Music festival, pouring rain for two days that didn't damper enthusiasm or affect Sam reliability wise

Then again.... it was good enough for Surf industry pioneer, Jack O'Neill, seen here sitting in his 1953 Jaguar XK 140, at his cliff-side home in Santa Cruz, Ca. on Thursday April 26, 2012.




In the surf world Jack O'Neill is an iconic figure, both literally and figuratively. A stylized version of his face, with its trademark eye patch and bushy beard, graced the labels of his eponymous wetsuit brand for years. The vision of him driving his Jaguar XK140 through the streets of Santa Cruz, surfboard sticking out the back seat, was a common sight for decades.

Santa Claus drives down Hawthorn Street in New Bedford seemingly on his way to a surf session before Christmas arrives.
