Boards - as you guys know, I'm loving my old/new Tracker... I love the way it surfs. We suit each other... A match made in heaven... So it's more like "Back to the Future!".

Wetsuits - THE Future... My prediction... Material technology for wetsuits will take a big leap forward within 5-10-20 years... Whilst the current rubbers are very good, they inhale water, and the winter suits get very heavy, especially in their 2nd winter!

I predict that vastly superior materials will come along... Closed cells, no water absorption, superior insulation, and much lighter...

And yes, this won't bother Queenslanders! Water doesn't get cold enough to worry about wetsuit technology!

Great vid Ispy..I've been involved with Nano tech in paint for about 4 years..the closed cell system works so well, but didn't think of the wetsuit use...

Come on Triple X..or Ripcurl..would be a quantum leap for surfers

+1 I love this sort of stuff. Great post. I think that things will develop a lot faster than you think Simondo. Why? Just think how much things have improved in the last 5 yrs. I pulled out an old wetsuit from my last cold water surf trip and can not believe how much things have improved. At the present rate of improvement I might even consider moving back to NZ - as if Love the lucky country

It might not be as bad as it looks, most spray application suggest a mask etc it inhibit inhaling minute particles

Also the application need only be on the outside of the suit....having said that..I'm not volunteering to be a tester

I think 5-10 years will deliver great wetsuit improvement...

Look at Phone improvement...
Motorola helped kicked things off through the 90's.
Nokia ruled the roost from about 99 to 2004
iPhone took over in about '06...
iPhone4 came out about 4 years ago...
