A kiwi mate of mine surfed in Dubai a couple of days ago as he stopped by on route to the UK and sent me this. You been here yet Tux? I haven't - think I would be keen to give it a go as it sure doesn't look too crowded The sweet potato would love it out there!

"I had to surf a reef board as all the rental fishes were damaged or snapped but i managed to get a couple of waves and through a vid together....I recommend taking your own board up there as the wave requires something more fishy to make the most of the sections it throws up and you cant rely on the rentals as they only have 4 boards and only 2 of those are proper fish dimensions

I wish bro....I reckon you could find better waves for the money you would spend in Dubai...it looks kinda short as well!!

I surfed nowhere today - its small and weak and crap like. Instead I ended up at a house auction that sold before it started, Tuggerah Mall to buy some chick stuff from the David Jones, The Entrance markets and now I am finally back home. Thank god the rain has stopped.

Now I just need to read the form guide for the big race this arvo....I am tipping the Kiwi horse - long odds as well

Shark Tower with MR and a couple of the crew, tiny, so no one out, but with plenty of foam, we all managed to bag a covey

Didn't get into the water until about 12.30 and MR and Brad were just going home after being in since about 10. You needed that long to score enough waves to call it a sesh seeing as how it was so bad.

I walked all the way down to the pylon and practiced any silly moves I could think of, then I did something kinda weird that I often do when the surf is small, I moved back up to sharktower, maybe 400 metres, but I didn't walk along the beach and I didn't paddle, I walked/crawled in the waist deep shallows pushing the board sideways in front of me while I rested my elbows and head on the board.

I just find it really relaxing, but you don't half get some strange looks from the people walking along the beach.

MR's going to be away for the next 2 weekends I'm going to have to find someone else to drop in on

Next time you're down, come for a surf with me MR and Ted, it'll only take 15 minutes of driving to learn the code.
