Have a 4 mm 600 x 200 d-cell patch coming next week so will start to better prep on arrival of d-cell.

Who would have thought you would find staples in a board - The cloth on the EPS foam is a yellow woven stapled on...any body encountered this?

is 1 or 2 layers of 6'oz clothered preferred on the bottom layer?

Yep, I've repaired lots of boards with staples inside, think it's got something to do with mass production glassing.

Normal lay up is 1 layer of 4oz underneath then 2 or 3 layers 4oz on top, if you only have 6oz, then 1 underneath and 1 or 2 on top.

Yeah Yeah Yeah Staples, poorly wet out dry cloth, voids and spaces in the diviniycell, nothing new really. You need to go to theboardlady.com and swaylocks.com heaps of info there for your repairs
