If you don't get a big enough natural high from windsurfing I dare say you probably have got some serious problems. Drugs alter brain chemistry and neural pathways, start messin with that, and you'll slowly diminish your ability to have natural high's and you begin to create a physical addiction and a psychological dependency on drugs. In my line of work, one ofthe biggest causes of ruined lives is drug taking................ I see people in their teens, 20's, 30's 40's, 50's and even 60's who's lives are ruined from alcohol and drugs........ That we have developed a culture where drugs are embedded in our social fabric is extremely sad

Now for the record....... of all the clients I see, and is also what the scientific literature finds, is that psychological therapy is least effective for the alcohol and drug addicted, and the alcohol drug addicted have the poorest future prognosis for ever getting well again. The brain changes with drugs, in some ways never to return to normal. The short term benefits of drug taking which there are some, are far outweighed by the long term damage they do!!
The brain becomes so altered, that even if you come off the drugs and alcohol, you probably have to take precription drugs for the rest of your life to restore the appropriate brain chemistry you need, and to feed the hungry little neurotransmitter receptors that you have inadvertantly created!!
Lecture over.......
And for those of you that pooh pooh my words of wisdom........... See you at my clinic when your brain burns out!!!!!!!! And join the queue, coz I have a waiting list!!!!!!! More windsurfing toys yippee!!!!!!!
