You've sailed there enough times to not need to see where you're going.
Good to see more surf today. Wind will swing back NE from tomorrow.
Come back down.

50knots+ = big fast stacks. Had a beauty on the lagoon coming in. Travelling at about 1000km/h caught rail and got thumped.

actually saw you stack it. I was haning out on the other side of the lagoon (near the surf club) waiting for the change all day... when it finally arrived at 7:45 it looked pretty gnarly. 50 knts. against 2 meters of surf with no one else in sight and next to no one on the beach... decided to give it a miss untill I saw duno and whyner upwind only 10 minutes later... by the time I went around the bay to the lagoon it was too late to rig up... damn!

I think the wind actually was around 60knts where it squeezed passed the island. I was standing on the rocks near the lagoon watching the guys getting hammered and nearly got blown off as well.

They did indeed do a couple of runs on the flat water in the lagoon. First I saw Donk getting slammed by his sail in a monster gust then whymer got nicely flattened... It would have been insane around 10pm as the wind dropped down to around 25-30knts.... if only there was some light.

PS: New Years Eve wasn't bad down at Shoalhaven Heads... was out on a 4.7 fully powered up... while not perfect there where some nice waves around and only a few guys out...

Shoalhaven Heads on NY eve was good fun, but apart from knee high the day b4 that at Gerroa in light winds the last week was a total fizzer.
Could see those green arrows turning red as I drove down there. Hope you guys have a better season from here on in....

PS. Mauritius might be on a little later this year than last. We were thinking late August but nothing firm yet.

Where were you CC?
Last week Friday (23rd) head high 25 knots, Sunday(Xmas), Monday, Tuesday - over head high 20 knots, Friday, Saturday (NYE), Sunday.

I wouldn't mind more "total fizzers" like that.

Pity about last Wednesday/Thursday though. Still got a southerly sail in.

unfortunately sailing in LR in 7-10 knots over X-mas.....Actually had some wind on Xmas eve

If you consider last Friday at Gerroa headhigh you must be pretty short... but quite rite Shoalhaven on NY eve was good fun, was pretty wrecked when I finished. Unfortunately didnt manage to catch those southerlies, my nightvision isnt so hot anymore. Looks like you guys getting some good swell now down there, might even have some fun in gods country if its still around for the weekend...

CC, note that I said Friday the 23rd was head high. Not last Friday.
Although they were breaking over my head last Friday when I was slammed into the sandbank.
The Heads session was a great way to finish the year.
Hope we get wind this weekend.

Leski, Sunday could be awesome. Graph looks spot on. Just need to do an anti-rain dance. But hopefully it will have gone by then.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't whinging and youre rite it was plenty of fun, although I got there probably a little later as the wind started to ease soon after, was powered up plenty at first on a 5.4
Prob not quite that hot a sailor myself to make the most of the conditions.

Looking forward to get down there when its really hot though.

hang on! 100000 waves in 4 hours?? let's make few calculations at 7s period waves , 4 hours would only give...hmmmm wait a sec...4 hours =4x60x60=14400 seconds...divide by 7... 2057.1waves!!!!!
hey WHAT IS GOING ON!!!! are you trying to bull** us???hmmm?
unless you are talking each time you cross a wave goin out...so hang on..if you travellin at 20knots with waves coming towards you ...7sec period...ohhh f*ck this is too hard.
ME THINK THEN after all these highly complicated calculs that ya're not tellllin da true truth!

Leski, too much thinking and not enough sailing!

Anyway I wasn't far off. I was very fast. I was also plugged into the Matrix.

Whyner sails at 1000km/hr and qwerty catches 100000 waves in 4 hours? Some super hero feats by the south coast boys!!! All this happening whilst getting chased by hammerhead, bronzie and mako sharks. I am impressed

We don't eat cereals. We catch live birds with our bare hands and eat them on the spot, feathers and all.

As the saying goes, "if you can catch a bird, you can catch a wave".
