MD74. I remember a topic from before the weather turned big that was looking for a few guy's to get into the waves. Might be time to have another go now the swell is not 11m. I'm thinking, this weekend, Currumbin?

With Greeny and Browny coming we probably should invite Bluey and Red. C'mon Haircut, 2ft. Better make that 4ft. Just in case it's fun.

Mmmmm.June July is the quietest time of the year for wind up here. can get a bit but probably 5 days a month. There is a spot just North of Ballina. If i give too much away the locals will let my tyres down. So see if you can find it. Other than that try D'bah at Coolangatta. Or the Currumbin Alley in SE.

hey Tony did you get out today?

I went flat water sailing at the train, got a bit, ummm, how do I say, bored....

found out a few of the regulars train goers went to Narrowneck, bugger!! Im sure today would have been a great day to start playing in the ocean, oh well... see what happens as the weekend approaches, where do you go in at Currumbin?

maxs,
its your lucky day because if you go to byron in june you have a great chance of sailing flat rock the legendary windsurfing spot in side off sou-westerly perfection and will talk about the experience for the rest of your miserable life. yesirree those winter months can produce epic 4.5 to 5.5 conditions, the only problem is it's a bit of a lottery, and if you bring your gear you may not get anything, but if you don't it will howl and the surf will pump while you cry in your beer.
best regards ian

Narrowneck was absolutely greate. perfect
the swell was around 3 ft and a nice 20 to 25 knots breeze.
could not be better.

Yep. Currumbin was the go. beginner size waves and good breeze. sailed for about 4 1/2 hours before the hands said stop. A bit more wave would be good. But Haircut would have loved it.

Thanks Guys for the local knowledge.
If you are going to pass through Warrnambool (vic - on southern ocean) contact me and I'll introduce you to our little known but epic wave conditions. We enjoy a few extra sailors for company.

Currumbin is gentle for you first timers and old timers. A good safe bet. Sunday looks the better day. I'll be there whenever it is 12 knots plus all weekend.

to MD74, backloop, and surfin - the wind is looking very easterly for sat and sunday which means currumbin will be good to go. Narrowneck is probably your surest bet regardless of wind direction but it's only pretend wavesailing unless it's a sideshore NE wind at narrowneck. If it does turn out to be ESE on weekend, you will at least get to try some real 'down the line' waves at currumbin.

i'll be there if it under 3ft

i'll be there at currumbin if there is some wind. Most park somewhere by the central grassy bit near the lifeguard watch tower.

Alley Carpark. I hope the wind co operates. If not i'll rig the 6.2 and just have a float. The waves look paeticulary sweet today.

I think our evil plan is about to all come together. The wind is picking up nicely. The waves are sweet and at Haircut height. Pleased to see he upgraded to 3ft.
