When a local surfer dies we generally have a wake on the water.

I hope none of his family read this site, it was not just Heath who windsurfed.

I did not know him through windsurfing it was via another sport, never trust what you read in the press, I wish his family well.

Yeah, you're right. My apologies for being so flippant before. It's sad. My sincere sympathies to his family.

I guess you can trust the official police report... which states they found a number of packets with white powdery narcotics including a rolled up 20 dollar bill with narcotic substance residue. I supposed he didn't grind up the sleeping pills and snorted them.

hm... I guess I'll retract me previous statement. Turns out there was no residue on the 20 dollar bill and there was no powdery substance found in the apartment.

Still... I don't by the accidental overdose on prescription sleeping pill story. Generally speaking you need to pop about 10 times the recommended dose before you see negative side effects. Who in their right mind though would take that many accidentally?

Apparantely, when these two drugs are combined they are and can be, used to treat depression and acute anxiety.

Anyway why are people so ready to slam someone to the wall?, if anyone dies through any curcumstance whatso ever , they have a family and they have friends , it is a sad event when someone young dies either way no matter what he does for a living.
So many dickheads, have such simple boring lives they feel compelled to judge others, and to say this thread went on to mention about the iraqi war? , well ask yerselves

firstly I don't think my live is boring... secondly no need to call people dickheads.

No one here judged anyone in anyway... apart from you calling people dickheads and assuming their lives are boring.

What some people have stated is that a) there seem to be more important things happening in the world that the death of an actor (as tragic as it might be for the family and friends) and b) that they speculate it might be a drug related death due to reports in the media and statements made by the NYC police.

But I guess since you are a kiteboarder I didn't expect anything but such a juvenile comment.

as for my final comment on the subject... yes it is tragic that he died... yes I feel with the family and friends... no, I don't understand why the world seems to put so much value on this that it appears to be the only thing every news outlet is reporting on.

It particularly rubs me the wrong when you consider how little recognition tragedies such as the War in Congo get (see mediastorm.com/publication/rape-of-a-nation for some info on this)

I guess at the end of the day people really only care about the rich and famous...

Flux, you started the insults. Not me or anyone else here.

There are plenty of things that rubs me the right way. Ignorance isn't one of them.

and as for people in africa are not Aussies... as they say... "who gives a f..k about a bunch of n....rs in africa! as long I get my footy on Sunday, cricket in summer and beer at the pub I couldn't care less about what goes on in the rest of the world. Except of course if it's about one of my country men. Ah, that's a different story."

A song lyric goes: "when ignorance rains live if lost..." welcome to the 21st century.

Back on subject lads,

Heath was a WA boy, his dad and family was fairly well known in the WA community who had a large engineering firm near where I work (before it went bust), and sponsored one of the best race cars I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

They were not "Tall Popies", They're were just a WA family.

Heath was a WA boy who had just started to make good, but never wanted the "star status" and still kept coming home to mum and dad.

That is the reason why this is posted, nothing else.

If you're that indignant about other real tragedies going on in the world then GTF of your freckles and do something about them they will be glad for your assistance and passion.

Why on earth do people need to summise and comment on what they have no personal knowledge of? No wonder news papers and commercial current affairs shows actually make money, with people so eager to lap up tragedy and then talk rubbish about the person or situation that they know nothing about.

I don't think anyone wants to hear negative things about people who pass away, unless they are of the kin of a serial killer.

The only thing that really matters is what YOU do to make the world a better place. Some of you guys need to look at yourselves and ask that question.

As I said in my first post , (I'm with Jefferson and Elmo by the way), I just thought it was pretty lame how a Perth Guy is killed at 28 leaving a grieving family and that some people here choose to start a big piss take session and start talking about world atrocities?

So in simple english stehsegler and before you start a mature arguement about kiteboarders being sub-human........."NEXT"
