I was a windsurfer... was winning the racing comps in jnrs here 2... landing forward loops and willy skippers... then jason got to me and i grabbed a kite... hehe you may have noticed all my windsurfing gear on the for sale page im now a full time kiter!

i ride Brighton and some of the Redcliffe beaches if i have to sk8board there cos mum wont drive me anything to get out there!
But in summer im gonna head ova to wello if i can hitch a ride with the windsurfers, cos it sounds pretty awesome, and i will get a chance to see some really good riders, (im just going from the KBM this month lol)
are there as many jellies at wello in summer?

wow very good Rhys... you sound a lot more experienced in every front that me .... lol... but we all start somewhere dont we...

Ah if u ride at Brighton, then u would see Lynita there evey now and again... shes a gr8 kiter - got my lessons from her...

ur very much into kitesurfing if u guys r in the mag.. heck... ime wanting to get some time now at the cableski park at carbrook, and at least then thatll give me board practise lol... which i really really need [}:)]

yeah wellos gr8 most of the time, you just have 2 get it on the right tide, and wind thats all... every 2 weeks the tide is perfect in between its still okay.. okay... but i luv it there.. fairly flat and not tooo deep 4 us learners....

but no and i mean nooo wind this weekend

heck yeah i mean Ryan, Lee and Daz ride at wello on most weekends, don't see Daz as much unless its reallyu blowing though... but its gr8... at least by summer n when u come visit us, i'll be fully up and riding aye...

l8rz Rhys...

Elizabeth - Wello Grommit

p.s. jelis in summer... only seen about 3 washed up on the sand bar.... haven't heard of many though... i'll ask the guys next weekend then... l8r

Hey again Rhys,

hey that sounds realy good would luv 2 head up there, but I like to stay close to Wello just in case the winds are good ... lol... going 2 go to the Carbrook cableski park sometime soon, depends on work and the wind, and then see how all goes lol... lol, i've only been out three times properly, but that doesn't include standing on the board... that includes falling from the board lol... thats what ime good at

yeah wellos pretty good with the jellies from what i know... not all that many... but some dolphins from what troy and ryan have said also...

i ttly agre wit u that the olds wil hve2 lrn the txt lnge soon.. lol .. not olds ... 'muture' jk

better winds for tomorrow .... if I have time i can hopefully get some in 2morrow b4 work... ;) later

Coz I'll be out in the water soon at wello - where i live - i should see you ELIZABETH.. so I TRACK ALL YOUR MESSAGES AS IT HELPS ME know a bit more about it all.... i would be close to youngest at 15 BUT TURNING 16 (I hate getting older coz i wish i started heapz of stuff young).... mmmmmm - well I'll definately be out there in christmas hols.....

heya hey_te89

Least you have been ridng since you were 10, or at least knew it existed then! I didn't even discover kitesurfing until last December, and didn't start until end of April this year... so with UNI, work and learning to kite, I haven't come too far lol... if only the wind was consistant...

Yeah it certainly takes a lot of money and saving, especially if you buy everything new like I did lol... but trust me, it is all worth it

Ahhh, lucky one, at least u live at Wello...! I have a 30min drive to get there, but if the winds good and the tides great, its certainly worth the drive down there

lol, I doubt that many of my messages would be helpful , mainly we're all just mucking around, but I do try to have the serious comment now and again

Yeah you would be the youngest there then... I am the youngest Wello rider at 18, but it's worth you waiting until Christmas time to start, because you get the nice temperature, better weather and consistant winds without gusts!!! Bring on October-> March

Hope 2 c u round then

wow... to think of it that way Rhys, you are young! --1990-- Go the 80's jk... '87 actually... but anyways Rhys, your not a Wello kiter yet... at least not till the winds pick up to be a bit more consistant in December, and until your on School holidays At least you live right near Brighton Beach area and can choose to go kiting and get there in like 10 minutes... now thats lucky...

soooo... to the Ryhs person - you are 3months younger than me!! not much.....

mmm... also - whats with ppl always gettin out so late down the point - 2day i walked out at 7am (early 4 sat) and no one was there! that happened on hols (and im talking bout wen there is wind)...

i tried sucking up to my paernts then - maybe if theres wind I'll get one!

Depending on what brand of equipment you get, the prices will vary remarkably! I purchased all my equipment from Goodtime, and it's a great place to check out equipment, cost, brands, and the service is wonderful. Pvt Msg me if you want anymore info on Goodtime and who to contact there. I purchased a 10m Cabrinha Element (which is now discontinued and i need a smaller kite now because it's winter, a 140cm Cabrinha Labrat board, Dakine Fushion Hawaii (S size) seat harness, Wet suit, boots, JAM impact/ life jacket, and a helmet I havent worn yet lol... This all cost me about $2900 or a little bit more, but no more than $3500-(I purchased my board and kite save a total of 450-other brands may cost fractionally more)

lol apart from the fact that it's 7am on a weekend morning, unless its blowing 18knots ++ at that time in the morning, you won't find many kiters there until about 10 am or so. Also, being a friday night most of them would have been out the night b4... Check the tide also before you go down, because on a low tide, you most likely won't find any of them there (at least in winter you won't find many- summer there will be)...

Anyways... hope that helped mate...

have a good one
