I don't know what that guy's deal is, he's all over the place. Maybe he's just not getting any, and hasn't got anything better to do after work?

Rec.Windsurfing is a popular hangout for him, and Mo has even started a MockuMentary in his honour. Have a look at http://www.teamcoyote.net/shot_otd.html A lot of it is 'had to be there' humor based on stupid comments or questions he's made on rec.windsurfing, but you get the general idea. There's also a list of his known 'identities' on there.

Those guys have pictures of him, and know where he lives.. doesn't seem to slow him down much though!

Before anyone asks, no, I'm not him (or any of his annoying alter-egos). I ride small, modern gear in NZ, although I will admit to having a really old plastic Bic longboard hanging in my garage.

I don't have any useful ideas as to how to stop him (shotgun maybe?), or filter out the BS, but agree that jumping all over newcomers and beating them up 'just in case' isn't the right way to keep people keen on the sport (or to show just how friendly you aussies really are.)

Nice one 555. Surely these cartoons fuel the desire (as must this thread)... I'm thinking of turning serial pest so I can get my own comic or is that cosmic

I think the risk of "jumping all over newcomers and beating them up" is actually pretty low. Ol' brucie is too easy to pick. If a new poster starts by saying they have an old board which needs to be identified or they sail on a lake or they have experience with snow boarding/skiing AND they have difficulty in locating the comma and shift (for capital letters) keys or write excessively rambling sentences (such as this one), it is most probably everyone's favourite forum troll...

EDIT: Those comics are GOLD!

I don't think any genuine beginners have been bagged by anyone on this forum.

I reckon the guy posts on lots of forums.
His grammar and punctuation is so bad probably because he types so quickly to get as much of his crap out onto the net as fast as possible.
He never loses his temper which probably rules out a young person.

There was a yank posted to the speed forum about the navi gt11. His post looked very sus, and he was jumped on, fortunately he didn't loose his cool too bad and came back with proof of ID, so was then taken seriously.

And he was in China, and a kitesurfer to boot. Sent a couple of PM's to help him out, he sent back some good stuff he was doing with kite and speeds.

I suppose that makes me the exception to the rule.
